  • Great product, horrible instructions!
The kit is totally complete and a very good quality. The conversion to electric bike comes out very good. However, the instructions are in what I call Chinese English and are very hard to follow. If you’re not mechanically inclined, I don’t suggest this kit.

  • Easy to install. Works great. Fun to ride. Needed some tools.
Size: Front Style: 1200w / 52v 16ah Shark
Bought the front tire/LED control/twist throttle. Easier to install because you don't have to deal with gears. I also installed it on a bike with pull-type caliper brakes vs. disk brakes. Again, much easier to install. It comes with very simple waterproof connectors which makes wiring very easy. I needed a few extra things. Definitely get another torque arm, for both sides of the front forks. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C7J1ZD7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Then I needed a crank extractor and bottom bracket lock ring remover. Watched a few YouTube videos on removing crank. Easy to remove the crank and install the pedal assist sensor. Definitely do this. My lock ring was loose enough so I probably didn't need the lock ring remover. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F5DN2DM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JL8C3GZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Installing the new front tire was easy. I needed a thinner tube than my previous one. I bought a 48 volt 10 ah battery on eBay for cheap. You'll need XT60 connectors to connect to the controller. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Z4GL1C4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I typically pedal without power for 10 to 15 miles and then use pedal-assist or the throttle to return home. 10ah is plenty. But if you have more hills or want to go fully under power, 10 ah is probably good for 15 miles. So 20ah if you want to safely go 20 miles or so without pedaling at all. I installed the front tire, throttle, the pedal assist sensors but not (yet) the brake levers with built in cutoff switch. Mostly because by front and rear derailleur levers are both combined and part of the brake lever mount. I was going to mount the controller externally and then put the battery in the cup holder, but that didn't work AND the battery is heavier than you think. So I bought a rear rack and bag. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NGF6AY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S63Z2KJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Fits perfectly. I think a 20ah battery might fit as well. Wired up, with lockties and except for the larger front wheel hub, which no one notices, no one can tell I have an electric bike. Looks like any other bike with a rack and a bag on the back. The wires mesh right in. Using the bike is fun. My only complaint is that you can't really adjust the pedal assist. I leave it on low (there is medium and high in red) and it is too much assist on flat ground. On hills its great. So i found that i would pedal, go too fast, stop pedaling, drift, and then pedal again. Sort of a pain. I wish there was a way to temporarily disable the pedal assist for short bursts so that my pedaling could be smooth. Then it hit me. I installed the left brake lever and use it for the front brakes. When you squeeze, whatever power there is to the front wheel stops. So under pedal assist, i pedal away and when the bike starts going to fast, rather than stop pedaling, i gently squeeze the left (front) brake lever so it trips the switch and shuts off the power. I had to adjust the brake line so that a gentle squeeze doesn't slow the front tire. Now it works great. Kind of like cruise control at whatever speed i want and I keep pedaling smoothly. There is a 6km cruise control button, its worthless. So I use three modes. System off, pedal normally, bike under physical control System on, pedal at my pace and feathering the electric motor by gently squeezing the brake lever on and off so that I can keep pedaling and maintain my desired speed alternating between my power only and pedal assist power. And finally, the twist throttle, no pedaling to just go totally under electric power. You can still pedal but there's no resistance so why bother. A fun project, and fun to ride. ... show more

  • E-Bikeling kits are so much better than the amateur builds on YT.
Size: Front Style: 1200w / 52v 16ah Shark
Okay. Right off the bat, this kit is totally, unbelievably awesome. Whichever model you're going for, whatever wattage you're looking for, if eBikeling offers a waterproof package for it? Go for it. It is a dream to put together. The only undreaming part at all was fitting the wheel. I will tell you that most of my trouble had to do with the fact that I'm probably not using the best bike in the world to do this with. (And I'm ending almost every sentence with the preposition, while beginning this explanatory sentence with a conjunction. I have created a wormhole of poor English grammar). I got the front wheel direct, 48vdc, 1200 watt 700c. The motor itself is huge! I'll tell you right now; once you get cooking your wattage drops way down and this thing can go... Let's just say it can go really fast. I set off an automatic speeding camera on a street near my house. It's not really that slow a street. Be sure you do all the torque washers AND torque lever(s) as well. You'll probably want a battery triangle for a 1200 or greater. Let me fine tune it, and I'll send a pic. ... show more

  • Inexpensive, simple, and effective
Size: Front Style: 1200w / 52v 16ah Shark
Got this paired with a Joysi 48v battery for my first ebike kit, installation was mostly painless (aside from the battery having the wrong connector type, which I can't fault Ebikeling for since it's from a different brand), and it runs great! I weigh about 200 lbs. and on level ground the mid power setting gets me up to about 15-17mph easily. Pic attached is from midway through the project, I was still waiting on the battery and I've greatly improved the cable management since then. I'll miss having the water bottle in an easy-to-reach place, but I'll manage. ... show more

  • Amazing kit
Size: Rear Style: 1200w / 52v 16ah Shark
Amazing little motor! Fastest I’ve gotten it so far on it is 40mph, definitely wear a helmet. Came in 12 hours with fastest delivery selected, crazy impressed. Not sure how accurate battery display is, after 24 miles of pure motor it still says battery is 100%, so I’m interested to see how long my battery actually lasts haha. Took maybe 1-2 hours to install while taking my sweet time. Pedals are probably the hardest to swap if you don’t have the crank removal tool already. But the sensor you install is very worth it, just light pedaling and the assist mode kicks in. ... show more

  • Everything installs and works as expected
Size: Rear Style: 1200w / 52v 16ah Shark
Installed on a new bigbox Schwinn Hybrid with aluminum frame and disc brakes. Kit was surprisingly complete, no visits to hardware store needed. Used the rear hub version as it keeps all 21 speeds, motor noise is low, easier to install than center version, and no added chain wear. The waterproof version has fewer connectors and avoids the usual rats nest of connectors. Bike has plenty of power, easily exceeds Illinois' 28 mph speed limit. Did have an issue with a connector that Ebikeling quickly resolved, so have to say their online reputation for good customer service is deserved! ... show more
