We've used this on over 12 beach outings now. It's holding up, and sheltering us from the sun. If you keep the sun slightly to your back, there is enough shelter to keep everything two folks in the shade using half-beach chairs. It does unfold and go up in about 60 seconds. And, it another minute to put in all the stakes, and about 2 minuets to set the cords if it's wiindy. It's never taken more than 4 minutes to setup. When taking it down on a beach, I've found that it's easiest to collapse and loosely fold. To return it to the case, you have to wrap it somewhat tightly, and that's hard to do on the sand. I tend to carry the loose tent to a sidewalk, paved area or parking lot to shake it out well and tightly roll it somewhere where I'm not picking up sand as I roll it. You certainly could roll it right on the sand, but you'd probably pick up quite a bit. I'd enthusistically recommend this over any other umbrella, shelter, or shade umbrella with those tie down flaps/windows. I've tried several. This one makes the cut, and I feel like I had my value out of it within 6 uses.... since rentals are about $15 on most beaches.

I spent hours looking at reviews for good beach shade and after owning 4 sport brellas it was not easy. This beach shade is awesome! Super easy to put up and take down. Great sun shade and pretty good vent twitch the windows shades open. It wasn’t windy at the beach today so I can’t report on the wind stability factor. But I would highly recommend this beach shade, it’s a good size, we could very easily fit two beach chairs and a cooler with lots of room.

Perfect for a day at the beach!

First time setting it up and it took less than 10 minutes! It’s very light weight and easy to carry. We spent over 4 hours at the beach and it held up great. The weather was very calm so I can’t say how it will hold up to winds but seems very sturdy. This is the XL version and could easily hold 4-5 adults. Folding was also very easy. I bought this for my son to have a shady place to relax after a long day at the beach. We really love this tent shelter and can’t wait to set it up again. Don’t hesitate to buy it.

Upgrade your summer beach days!

My wife and I had been wanting a beach tent of some sort for a while now, after we (and our two small kids) outgrew out little umbrella-tent thingy. After reading the reviews, I decided this sun shelter was the one (but was torn on whether we needed the XL or not). Like the product claims (and reviewers have corroborated) this thing is extremely easy to set up, just lay it flat and pull a couple draw strings. I didn't even need to read the instructions on first use. Putting it away is a little more involved, more about folding the support rods in a way where they're grouped together and lying flat, after which you can pretty much roll it like a burrito. Regarding the size, I'm still on the fence. The XL is big...bigger than I expected when I first set it up. The trouble is, it's tall--probably taller than I need it to be since I don't plan on setting up chairs inside. If you do, then it's probably the right size for you. My wife (who is 5' tall) can almost stand straight up in it. That said, I would gladly trade some of the height for more depth. The part that extends over the entrance to provide shade is actually fairly short, which means if I'm lying head at the back with my legs straight out the opening, only about half my body or less is shaded (I'm 6' tall). Despite that once issue, I've used the tent several times this summer and it's provided enough shade and privacy for my family and I and has made our days at the beach more enjoyable. As an instant shader owner, you'll feel guilty watching people huddled together under a small umbrella or spending 30+ minutes setting up cumbersome pop-ups, but enjoy it nonetheless :)

Easy to deploy and nicely sized

The unit is very easy to deploy and then to put back up at the end of the day. The carry bag is oversized so it is not difficult to get the tent back inside the bag. I’ve had tents in the past and once used, it is nearly impossible to get them back in their bags. Not the case with this one. I purchased the Xl beige model and am very satisfied with my purchase. I had thought about the standard size because it was a bit cheaper, but the XL size is perfect for us.

Perfect, just what we needed!

I had been searching for a good beach shade tent after our previous one busted. This one is a perfect size for the family, super easy to setup (I can do it myself in less than 5min) easy to carry, lightweight and very spacious. It’s a little wonky to stuff back in the carrying bag but it can be done. In addition, it holds up so well against the windiest of days when everyone else’s umbrellas are flipping up or tumbling down the sand. Would definitely recommend.

Chose this over Outdoor Master and Pacific Breeze

After a lot of research and deciding between the blue Pacific breeze and the Outdoor Master beach tent, I settled on this beach tent because it was only a pound heavier than the other two but gave you enough space to fit four individuals. The pop up technology is great for easy set up. The window clasps are nice but a bit flimsy as a windy day or strong breeze can knock it out of the loopholes unless you really knot them. This does come with stakes but they are meant to be used for grass. We used this for the first time on the beach and it was really big compared to all the other tents. I am 5'2" and felt that I could almost stand up in the tent. You can zip up the front part of the tent if you need to use it as a changing room. The reason why I gave this three stars is because we used it on a windy day and it did not hold up well. It was windier than usual that day, but my husband and I struggled to keep it upright even after we filled the three sandbags found on the left, back and right of the tent. The wind was blowing against the windows and the whole tent bent down towards the floor. Not sure if we would have fared any better with the other two options. Other than this terrible first experience, it was easy to clean, and was quite compact when we disabled it. This would be perfect if you are going to the beach with a larger group as you can fit up to 4 individuals in it (towels laid facing towards the front). In addition, the air circulation is nice when the windows are open. If you want to use chairs, you could probably fit two and not feel too claustrophobic. It does not have a little zipper door as I have seen other tents, but the reality is that you probably would not need a zipper door unless you are planning to keep the front zippers up the entire time. Mostly, you will zip it up to change into your bathing suit and then unzip it.

Easy set up and lightweight for one person

I set this up in my livingroom (not the best idea I ever had), so it was probably a little harder to set it up, than if I had more room. But overall it was quite easy for one person (woman, over 50, 5'6" tall) to set up in about 10 minutes. I think the 2nd time I set it up will take only 5 minutes. It's easy to fold up. Wrapping the tent fabric is not quite as easy, but after a couple to tries, I got it s=wrapped tightly enough to slide it back into the case. I'll probably use metal stakes, instead of the plastic ones that come with it, but they look adequate. It's bigger than I expected, ad there's plenty of room inside for a couple of chairs, and my dog's crate, and our gear (for dog sport events).
