The directions are clear (for the chairs) but this is very tedious to put together. Sturdy when you’re done. The table was harder to figure out. The leaf fell out of the bottom when I extended the table. I wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be attached, because I couldn’t get it out of its mailing packaging without getting it out, and I couldn’t get it out without opening the table. And nothing in the directions talked about it other than how to open the table. A little more clarification on that would be nice. Then after I had it put together with the extension, I can’t get it back apart (it was hard to close too). So I’m just leaving it extended. For any small apartment owners -beware if you extend it. Make sure you have room to leave it extended. It’s still a pretty small set even with the extension though. Overall I’m happy with it now that it’s together! ... show more

We bought this LITTLE dinette set because our kitchen area is small. The stain color was very close to the same color finish as our kitchen. However, the stain on this set is so thin that as the wood separated (for example on the back of the chairs) it is now WHITE in the cracks. It is not worth the effort to restore these areas. There is no stain there at all! The seat "cushions" are hard as a rock - no foam padding. This furniture is definitely not worth having new cushions made, or recovering the existing ones. The "leaf" adds only 12" to the full length. Therefore, there is NO WAY that this could seat 6 people (as advertised). We've tried to do that and it doesn't work. The chairs can't be pushed up to the table and no space between even folding chairs. This is an acceptable apartment-size table, seats 2 people comfortably. We are not over weight or large people and we are careful with our furniture. We've never had a piece of furniture fail like this. We bought it new in 2020, and now the sales price is over $500. We paid far less than that for this set. Be careful if you do buy this, and expect it to look worn out very quickly. ... show more

    • Poor packaging and minor damage.

The table came with the inner leaf dowel (which allows it to hinge without ever removing it from the table) broken off. Also a corner of the table had been impacted and dented and a leg was also dented, and there was crack underneath the table surface - but that is not very easy to see when the table is put together and closed. I was able to fix the leaf dowel by gluing it together (and I know this part doesn't bear much load, it just keeps things in place), but the table's poor condition indicates poor packaging, and by the time I had opened the box I wasn't interested in mailing it all back. The packaging is this flimsy styrofoam that shows dents and wear by the time it arrives. The broken dowel may also indicate these tables come from a humid climate (made in Viet Nam it says on the packaging) and if you live in a dry climate (I live in Colorado) the table may dry out and be more vulnerable to cracking. So this time I'm am disappointed with the quality. This is the 2nd table like this I've purchased and the other one was fine. I will look into other options before buying this product again. I know there are great return policies, but it would be nice to get it right the first time every time. ... show more

For the most part, I had no trouble with this set. I had one bolt that did not want to go in (on a chair leg) - I thought it might be stripped. I looked up the manufacturer and they quickly replied and were willing to send me a new chair leg, but a friend of mine (who is very strong and more knowledgeable than me about putting things together) used his strength to force the bolt to go in. All manufacturing processes have occasional errors. If the other bolts had not all gone in seamlessly, the one that didn't probably would not have stood out. I appreciated the manufacturer's willingness to be proactive. If you have a problem putting it together, I suggest you search for the manufacturer to talk with them directly. There is only so much that Amazon can do. The set is beautiful and works very well in my small apartment. ... show more

The table is beautiful! The color in person is a bit darker than what is portrayed in pictures still color is rich and beautiful. aTable and chairs were built very well. Priced well, packaged well for shipment which arrived on time. I would give 5 stars across the board but cannot due to the fact that only 2 of the 6 chairs fit under the table. Aslo can fot 6 placement mats without overlapping on top of table. So takes up more space than anticipated. Aside from that it was a good guy. I can live with those defects mentioned. ... show more
