You’re asking yourself whether this is as good as a Solo for $70 less and decided to head to the comments to see. Well, I have answers for you. Yes, I have a Solo stove. Yes, I’ve used my Solo extensively. Yes, I’ll continue to use the Solo. Why did I buy this one? I was intrigued by the removable ash basin, which my Solo doesn’t have (it’s a Bonfire 1.0), and I wanted another fire pit to use at a different location. First, this works just like any smokeless fire pit. Get your fire started and when you get some hot coals it burns effectively and there is very little smoke. There may be some smoke until you get the fire going at a good rate. It works well, goes through more wood than a traditional fire pit due to how well it burns, and puts off good heat in a reasonably sized area. Great for backyards, camps, etc. I see no discernible difference between my Solo and the East Oak. It works well and is similar in size to the Bonfire sized Solo. Removable ash tray on this makes it much easier to clean the ashes than by Bonfire 1.0. Pro tips for a smokeless experience and fire—use dry, seasoned wood; empty the ashes after every fire (this makes a huge difference). The ash basin makes it really easy to clean. Cons: carry bag is a little thin, I would store out of the elements or inside when not in use to prolong its life. Carry bag works fine, though. Edges are a little sharp. When you lift the body off the base, the bottom edge is a bit sharp—wear gloves for protection, you’re going to be cleaning ashes anyway. The heat deflector ring that goes on top suffers the same problem. Neither is a big issue or real detractor from the overall product. Nice product overall and would buy again.

I love this EAST OAK Fuoco Smokeless Fire Pit. It is a bit bigger than I was expecting and that is a good thing. It is as good as any of the same type of pit on the market and at a great price. The first burn in this pit was super easy. I had some old brown packing paper and a few dead limbs from around the yard as a starter and in under a minute I had a hot fire going that I added a couple of bigger pieces of wood. Basically one full sized log chopped down by an axe kept this pit hot for over 2 hours. That is an efficient burn rate if you ask me. The clean up couldn't have been easier either. I just emptied the ashes out of the main cylinder and the ash pit ( yes there were ashes left in both ) and packed it back in its carrying bag. For the most part there was very little smoke but anyone that tells you you are not going to have any smoke has never used one of these pits. It just reduces it quite a lot. It also gave off a ton of heat. It was in the upper 40s and I sat around it for a while and was kept quite warm in shorts! This is going to be a game changer for when the kids want to roast smores... can't wait! I will say if I was going to improve on anything so far I think I would make the carrying bag a little more substantial. I don't think it will last very long as it is made of very thin material.

I've wanted a large smokeless fire pit for a long time. We started with a smaller tabletop version which works well, but isn't very practical for different reasons. This unit is a great size for our family and a couple of friends to sit around. It came well packaged but the bottom edge of the fire pit was dented so much it wouldn't fit over the base. I was able to hammer this out with a rubber mallet to get it to fit. I would have been really disappointed otherwise, but this does come with a 3 year warranty which was easy to claim online. The manual gives good directions. We tested ours with sticks from the yard, but larger pieces of firewood would give an even better result. There is some smoke when starting the fire of course, but once it's going, it burns well and puts off a good amount of heat without lots of smoke. Using dry wood will also help with this!!! I can also report it yields ideal conditions for toasting a perfect marshmallow! Cleanup is easy once unit cools off. I love that you can lift the fire pit off the base for easy cleaning, although we still had lots of ashes in the main fire pit too, but that was easy to clean up. The storage bag is on the thin side, but adequate for protection. If you're going to transport often, you might want to invest in something more heavy duty.

The media could not be loaded. I was certainly impressed with how efficient and hot this fire pit burned. I started out with an old paper, grocery bag, some twigs from the backyard and a few pieces of oak. I lit it with my torch and within seconds the fire was roaring. Very little smoke. I know there’s always smoke where there’s fire, but the fire burns so officially in this pit that there was hardly any smoke detected. It gave off a good amount of heat. It was very easy to set up right out of the box. It only comes with three parts the stand, the main pit, and a top flat rim that simply fits right on the top of the pit. I’m not sure what it’s for, but I’m sure it has something to do with the flow of heat and fire. It also came with a nice caring case. The zipper allows you to zip the case it almost in half so you can easily place the pit in it and zip up. It has two handles for easy carrying and storage. The carrying case material is pretty light white so you’ll need to handle it with care. I added a few more larger oak logs to the fire after I cut my video and they instantly caught fire at the fire burn down to. There wasn’t a single piece of wood left. That just shows me how well and efficient this thing burns. I was very impressed, there didn’t appear to be much heat underneath and I could’ve placed it directly on my deck, but I still feel it’s smart to lift it off the deck a bit just to be certain. This is a great value at about half the price of the solo brand and having experience both there’s no difference if anything this one may be a hair better. When I was done, it was easy to dump the ashes and put everything away in the carrying case. Overall, I really like it and would recommend it to anyone.
