I’m not one to review every Amazon purchase but I’m so happy with this one that I had to leave a 5 star. I’ve been looking for a compact fire pit for some time. I’ve used some of the other brands, but was never impressed with how boring looking they were. Enter East Oak - they have actually taken the time to make a lot of the details a priority. I really like the shape of this fire pit. It’s different & it looks great with my patio furniture. I was super pleased with how well packaged the whole kit was and even found the box labeling to be pretty cool. All of the panels are pretty thick and everything feels really well made. It’s definitely light enough to carry around, but it feels super solid. I also appreciate how they’ve used a brushed stainless finish on some parts and a polished look on others. It’s very easy to light and the vents on the bottom seem to feed the fire really well. It took no time to get a roaring fire with the spare 2x4s I had on hand. Another thing I really like is how clean everything burns once the fire gets going. The “fire ring” part definitely works to burn off the smoke. Last but not least, clean up was made easy with the included poker tool. You can keep your hands clean and discard the ash easily. Overall I’m super pleased with the fire pit. I can’t think of anything I’d change apart from maybe ordering one size up next time. When I have more space I’ll definitely be looking at some of the other East Oak products. ... show more

    • Wow this thing is BIG and a little strange looking

So the first comment I got on this when I put it on my patio was ... "What is that thing?" from my wife. Yup, it's a fire pit. No, it doesn't look like a fire pit. It's kind of awkwardly shaped and hides a lot of the fire, with just the flames poking out the top. It advertises itself as smokeless. I don't know if I'd agree with that assessment. There still seemed to be plenty of smoke, albeit it tended to go up instead of attack my guests who sat by. But there's a downside, it also seems to send the heat upwards instead of out, reducing the value of having a fire pit in the first place. It doesn't really blend with my patio furniture, and it's kind of strange and new-agey looking. It's like a self-contained fire for people who don't like camp fires. It's not terrible and it's good for our use because we have a small back yard and can't have an open fire pit. But if you have the space and you enjoy watching the logs and embers at a camp fire, you might give this one a pass. ... show more

This bad boy puts off some heat and helps to not have a bunch of smoke. Make sure you have smaller pieces of wood to fix in this unit. Also keep an eye on it because the wood burns quick. You’ll have a big amber pile and it stays nice and warm. It’s easy to clean with the provided poker and tool to pick the bottom tray up with. I do wish the opening was more cylindrical and not so much as a square but maybe that helps with the heat transfer. Overall I would recommend this item. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The stove fire pit by East Oak, is a super convenient fire pit that makes starting, keeping, and clean-up of a fire pit almost effortless. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying. I. Design – The design on this is such that it will make starting and keeping a good attractive flame going, much easier than a hole in the ground. By allowing the air to come underneath the flame it feeds the flames their much need O2. It keeps most of the ask contained for easy cleanup and it will reduce the amount of fuel needed. By having the holes in the bottom you’ll still need to be thinking about what surface you have it on to avoid damage. II. Quality – This is made out of strong and solid metal construction that feels like it’ll last as long as you want it to. But, on the chisel steel version, it’s outside appearance is less refined then I would’ve liked. This gives it a cheaper look then I was expecting from this company. It just doesn’t look polished or finished enough for this price point. Overall – This is a great idea that makes having a fire pit much less work. Although I think the outside should look more polished, it still looks good for what it is and its added convenience more than makes up for it. But, if I could do it again, I would’ve pick a different color. So far everything has held up very well, but if I ever start to have problems with it, I’ll be sure to update this review.
