  • This bad boy is very impressive, works well!
Style: 16-Inch, 12.5-Amp Corded
I needed a tiller. I'm old and slow. The days of digging with a shovel and wrenching a hoe in my garden are over. I still love to be out in the dirt and my flower garden and also vegetable garden. I did a lot of research. I did a lot of comparison. The unit I purchased is a beast. I've rented tillers in the past and they are monsters. They're too big. I wanted something I can get around my existing plants but I also wanted something that I could dig and move dirt to contour some of the hilly area of my flower garden. Then I also needed a tiller too to stir up and dig up last year's garden and mix in new new soil and fertilizer. Let's get real. This unit was extremely simple to put together. Large brightly colored wing nuts and simple assembly. NO MESSING AROUND ADJUSTING AND SECURING THE BLADES OR ANY OF THE DIGGING COMPONENTS. You're simply attaching the handle and getting the cord properly secured so you don't run over it. That's it. This thing digs and is quite impressive. I started out slow and within an hour or so I had it really working very well. It chewed up the clay and I was able to contour and put in a small pond. When you're operating this thing you need to be aware of roots and rocks underground. I never really forced the unit as it pulled and dug very efficiently. I cannot express how well this thing worked for an electric garden tiller. I could move through my azaleas and rhododendrons and lightly dig up the dirt but then again where I wanted to chew up the ground for new plantings this thing went down 8 in and chewed everything up. I highly recommend this unit! TODAY'S 4*11*24 AND I HAVE AN UPDATE ON MY BAD BOY TELLER. I COULD NOT BE MORE IMPRESSED AND ABSOLUTELY PLEASED WITH MY UNIT /TELLER. IT HANDLES SO EFFORTLESSLY YOU JUST HAVE TO HANG ON TO IT WHILE THE BLADE DID TO YOUR DESIRED DEPTH. I USED IT FOR A WHILE AND THEN PULLED THE PIN SO IT COULD GO FREEFORM AND DIG DEEPER. I HAVE ACTUALLY CONTOURED MY GARDEN WHICH IS VERY HILLY AND I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LEVEL IT OUT, THIS THING WORKS BEAUTIFULLY! I DON'T RUN IT MORE THAN AN HOUR OR SO AT A TIME. I MAKE SURE THE BLADES ARE CLEAR OF PLASTIC STRINGS AND WHATEVER JUNK THEY PICK UP. YOU CAN WASH IT WITH A GARDEN HOSE BUT A BRUSH CLEANS THE BLADES QUITE NICELY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS UNIT, THIS BRAND, THIS SIZE, BECAUSE IT ALSO ALLOWS YOU TO WORK AROUND YOUR EXISTING PLANTS AND STIR UP THE DIRT. A+ PLUS PLUS PLUS PLUS ... show more

  • Exceeded expectations!
Style: 7.5-Inch, 2.5-Amp Corded
This little tiller is worth it's weight in gold! We have started a DIY flagstone laying project in an area that is 13'×15'. The dirt was packed down like concrete under the grass, there was no way my 75 yr old husband was going to be able to dig 4" of soil out if that area to lay the paver sand base, then 2" flagstone. Unable to find a gas powered tiller to rent, to loosen the soil enough for us to move it out, after reading reviews on this little electric tiller I thought I'd take a chance and order it for less than a hundred bucks. I wasn't expecting much, but thought, we'll probably only use it once, so it was worth a try. This little machine has exceeded my expectations. It tore through rock hard dirt like a hot knife going through butter. It chews through small rocks and has enough power to chew through rock hard compacted, never tilled clay soil. I'm not a gardener but do have a small raised garden I occasionally stick a tomato plant in, which has never been tilled, that will be my next test for this little power house. If you're on the fence about ordering this little machine, just do it...you won't be disappointed in it. Before and after photos attached. ... show more

  • Easy to maneuver, not hugely powerful
Style: 7.5-Inch, 2.5-Amp Corded
Bought this for a small flower garden (5’ x 45’) - did a great job grinding up a couple of seasons of weeds and wildflowers. The motor is not hugely powerful so you’ll have to work the plot a few times to really get a good turning of the soil, but it’s very easy to maneuver in tight spaces where a larger more powerful gas engine tiller might be really hard to use. Lightweight enough for my wife to use as well. But it can be tiring to bear down on the blades if you want to turn anything with established roots. ... show more

  • Small but mighty
Style: 16-Inch, 12.5-Amp Corded
Gotta say I am pleasantly suprised. I had a few doubts about this with it being electric but went ahead and ordered it to till up ground for my iris beds. It works really well. So much easier to use the the clunky gas powered ones and so much lighter. My husband has a bad back and I have had a lot of surgeries which prevents me from lugging around heavy items. We were both able to use this with no problems. Tilled up about a 4x8 plot of West Texas dirt full of grab grass. One word of caution though, keep an eye on the silver gear box underneath. We were cleaning the roots and such from the blades and the gear box was pretty hot. Other than that I love this. It's going to make iris replanting so much easier. ... show more

  • Great value for money
Style: 7.5-Inch, 2.5-Amp Corded
Perfect for the infrequent user/homeowner who needs to till the occasional path of ground. Works great for light-duty and most medium-duty jobs. The machine itself is sufficiently lightweight that it can be maneuvered by someone who's not a hulking heavyweight. I'd go for a larger or more powerful machine if I had to deal with difficult soil (e.g. dense, hard-packed), or in a wilderness area choked with vines and roots, but it works fine for around-the-house lawn and garden tasks, and the price makes it a very attractive item to buy and keep handy, rather than have to rent a commercial machine every time you have a tilling job to do. ... show more

  • Lots of power
Style: 7.5-Inch, 2.5-Amp Corded
If you have small areas to till, this is the thing. I have hard clay packet soil and wanted to prep some areas to till in mulch and plant grass. A pick and hoe was a lot of work and brought large clumps, but this little tiller pulverized the clay very easily. It just digs about an 8 inch wide area, but you can easily go forward and back and left to right. It requires an electrical cord, but I didn't want to go to the expense of a gas or battery powered tiller for something I will only use a couple of hours a year. My wife also used this tiller in her raised bed garden. It was light enough for her to handle and plowed through those beds in minutes and the wife was very happy. ... show more
