  • Powerful, cost effective, very helpful tool and arm stretcher!
Style: VERSA Tiller (Dropship ONLY)
Assembly - a little fiddly, but not overly, can be done with one person easily. Use a wrench set, no power tools if you are not familiar with setting torsion, you'll crush the handles! Amazing, great value for Money. We had a lot of roots in a newly cleared area for a vegetable patch. It's got plenty of power - yes it nearly ripped my arms from my body as it tore the roots out of the ground, and yes as expected some of them did get wrapped around the tines. However, what would've taken a day to prepare a 20ft by 80ft hard packed grassed area was completed in a couple of hours over 2 days (rest break / allowed some moisture to sink in) - this has become a corn patch. As for our existing vegetable garden, it dug down deep and mixed in last years compost, decomposed roots, chicken poop etc.. very nicely. Typically a days work to turn and dig in was a couple of hours, over two days, after watering a little and allowing it to settle. The ground is so light and fluffy, rich in nutrients ( pitch black ) the vegetables and very happy and weeding is a breeze. No longer digging out roots for packed dirt! Removed the outer two rotors for 'weeding' between rows, had to back-off the gas as to not not 'eat everything' - very quick exercise, worked wonders so not as much round-up needed this year. HINT: when starting off a fresh area, let the Tiller DIG-DOWN a few in inches by holding it in place, this will lighten the stress on your arms with it running away on hard packed dirt. Let it move along at it's own pace, WARNING hold tight if there are roots it will bounce and throw dirt, keep everyone far away. NOTE: keep clogged grass and roots off the rotors, you can tell if its blocking up by listening to the engine working harder, turn-off, tip it back and pull out anything that is wrapped around anything (look close to where the rotors are connected together) ... show more

  • Good value for price
Style: VERSA Tiller (Dropship ONLY)
Besides the assembly issues explained below, overall satisfied with this machine. Was a little rough to use on fresh, un-tilled ground, bounced around a lot but once got a pass or two through it worked pretty well. Biggest complaint is just how light it is in the sense it doesn't bite into the ground well but easy to maneuver Assembly was horrendous!! Bolts to attach the tines did not fit the predrilled holes. Had to drill the holes bigger, lock nuts cross threaded and got stuck half tightened. Had to cut off and buy replacements. Really should come with necessary wrenchs and tools needed. Especially when there are 3 different sizes needed. ... show more

  • Perfect for my needs
Style: VERSA Tiller (Dropship ONLY)
I bought this to till an old existing garden that was over grown with Bermuda and wire grass. I prep the area just to make it easier on me and the tiller by burning off the area. I set the depth and gave it a deep till and waited 2-3 weeks to go back over it. This is perfect for my needs and the size garden we have. Plenty of power to break new ground just make sure you set your bar deep enough and let it work. ... show more

  • Easy Start and great Tiller.
Style: VERSA Tiller (Dropship ONLY)
Tiller arrived with slightly broken thumb knob on handle bar bolt. But just plastic and not enough to complain about. Assembly was a bit confusing because the tape direction arrow on one of the tines fell off. After finding the cutting edge I was able to figure it out. Very impressed with the first start up. easy 1/2 pull start. Tilled fresh ground as well as last years garden (24' x 40') with no issues. Just make fast light passes to chop up grass and top soil first. Then go deeper. Thanks! G. ... show more

  • It's works ok but came with missing bolts
Style: VERSA Tiller (Dropship ONLY)
My husband put this together for me as the instructions confused me. While putting it together he noted several bolts missing (besides the ones I show in photos) that's to hard to show. He supplemented the missing bolts with his own he has saved in his workshop because I really need to till my garden and didn't want to wait for someone to send me bolts. I just hope it doesn't fall apart on me. ... show more

  • Well built but some flaws
Style: VERSA Tiller (Dropship ONLY)
I just got the tiller and assembled it. Overall it looks to be well made. I am coming from a horse troy bilt and large garden down to a smaller garden. The first problem I ran into was the gas cap snapped when I twisted it shut. A lot of caps you turn until you hear a click. Not on this one. That said it is my bad and I will order a new cap. ... show more
