The important thing is the flex/give and support. If you've ever had a massage on a typical table, your face is usually mushed in the cradle. This thing has ideal support. The next concern is adjustability. There's a lot of adjustment and it's relatively easy to do. My situation is unique in that I modified an existing lounge chair to double as a massage table. The channels for the arms are much lower than the standard table and this is able to accommodate that. The cover is easy to clean, and the pad separates easily by velcro. ... show more

Have had it for 1 year and velcro is falling off making the cushion unstable. I didn't get amazon warranty because has 3 year manufacturer warranty and in description it mentions easy to contact. This doesn't seem to be the case. Called, left a message early in the day and no call back. Best to get warranty from amazon if purchasing this item. ... show more

    • Least uncomfortable of any face cushion and cradle I've ever used

If there was a painless face cushion and cradle, then I'd give it five stars, but I've never found one. I feel like I've tried everything, but nothing completely eliminates facial discomfort for me. Most are painless for the first 15-30 minutes, but beyond that the design and material quality matter most. This is the least uncomfortable combo I've used so far. I'm able to maintain a meditative state throughout my massage session, and sometimes even reach a dream state, which is wonderful. Sure, it's uncomfortable having my face mashed against the cushion after an hour, but at least I'm not in so much pain that I'm distracted by it. I empathize with the designers and manufacturers of these things. It is obviously not easy to design something that eliminates the facial discomfort and pain with gravity pulling a skull and sandwiching skin and other facial tissues against it. At least for fifteen minutes or so, it's true. I have never been truly comfortable face down because of a facial bone fracture in the past, and I get truly congested. This face cradle is just that: a cradle, and it is incredibly soft, especially covered with fleece and an flannel cover, too. This is a keeper. No matter that it cost almost as much as my new table. I've always owned Earthlite massage tables and products during my 20-year career as a massage therapist. I have usually found them to be of decent quality. I've also owned most of their styles of headrests and face cradles. This is by far the best one they make, and the comfort and functionality is unequaled. In the past, I used their standard, adjustable headrest and face cradle. I recommend you stay away from that because the the foam wears out quickly and the client's face starts to hit the plastic frame underneath. Invest a little extra money for an upgrade and buy this one instead. It's absolutely worth it, and your clients will be much more comfortable with it.
