I've had these hearing aid/amplifiers for a few weeks now. I also have a pair of real hearing aids purchased via an audiologist. Before I review my EarCentric's, I want to discuss my views of these hearing aid amplifiers vs hearing aids available via an audiologist and I'm going to start by discussing headphones - a subject I am familiar with. As everyone knows, a pair of $100 headphones is going to sound excellent to the vast majority of people. A user of those headphones is going to be quite satisfied with their sound and range. Now there are people, who are quite demanding, and are in the vast minority, and would not be happy unless they use audiophile headphone which cost $1000 or many times that much. These audiophile headphones are very refined and the listener, who expects this refinement, will be quite happy with their sound. However, the vast majority of people who have the $100 headphones, will not care for the extra $900 or so to get that sound, the $100 headphones work just fine for them. Here-in lies the comparison between these EarCentric hearing aid amplifiers and the much more expensive true hearing aids. I have a moderate to severe hearing loss and my EarCentric hearing aid/amplifiers work just fine for me. They are not quite as refined as my real hearing aids but work almost as well - that is my real hearing aid are a little clearer but the difference is not that much. And certainly, in my opinion, are simply not worth the extra thousands of dollars. Essentially, unless someone has a real severe hearing problem, these EarCentric's will certainly do the job. Before buying my EarCentric's, I decided to pay the extra amound for the noise reduction, something that I feel is necessary in loud environments such as restaurants, and this noise reduction works quite well. These EarCentric's also have a volume control that has levels between 1 and 4. I set mine midway between 2 and 3 and the amplification is quite satisfactory. At level 4, they are very loud and will help someone with a more severe hearing loss than mine. They are well build, resemble traditional behind the ear hearing aids, are comfortable (I leave them in all day with no problem), and easy to install. One of their best features is the rechargeable battery which easily lasts all day. At night, I place the EarCentric's in their charger, and they're ready the next morning. There is no removing and installing of batteries. I basically stopped using my old hearing aids because I really got tired of dealing with those tiny batteries that tended to quit anytime, especially when I really needed them. Overall, unless someone has a real hearing problem, these EarCentric's should work just fine for them.

These are very affordable and versatile hearing aids. The 4 programs allow you to customize your hearing experience with the current situation and surroundings. Noise cancelling works very well and reduces hissing wind noises. The volume control allows you a wide range of selection for a most comfortable hearing experience. I had an earlier product from this same manufacturer, and this is an excellent improvement. I recommend this to anyone who wants state of the art hearing assistance at an affordable cost.

Not enough volume for my right ear which has more severe hearing loss than my left ear. I think they would work good for someone with mild to moderat hearing loss. Work great in my left ear but you have to buy two.

It's a bit difficult to get used to but anything is when it's new and unfamiliar to you. I am learning how to adjust it to different environment settings but so far so good. Good clarity of sound. Just hope it will last for awhile.

Like the cost. Paid 6 times as much for hearing aids from a professional establishment in the past and they quit working after 3 years. Also had to go into a store and have them adjusted several times and the last few times they charged me. I can adjust Ear Centric hearing aids myself for different sound quality. Also no batteries. Good sound quality and I like the fact that I can call a Service Tech if I need help with anything. So far so good.
