The media could not be loaded. This EANOSIC Compression Spiral end mill is certainly a smooth-cutting bit. This is the model E220, which has a 1/4" shank and 1/4" cutting diameter. The bit is made of solid carbide and is coated for extra longevity, sharp cutting-edge retention, and reduced cutting friction. I got this bit to use in my CNC router, but it can be used with a hand-held router or on a router table that has a 1/4" collet as well. It's a compression bit, also called an up & down bit due to the changes of direction of the flutes: up cut at the end of the bit, changing to down cut at the other end. This gives the "best of both worlds" when cutting deeper grooves, providing nice smooth bottoms to the cut with excellent chip ejection to prevent build up at the bottom of the channel, combined with minimal shredding of the top of the material. I also like the extra-deep cutting capacity: at 1.25" total. In the brief video clip I attached to this review, the top of the material is still a little bit shredded, but that's because I cut 3 passes at 3mm each. So the "stringy" top edge of the cut was done with the first two passes, which utilized the up cut portion of the bit. Had I cut in deeper I think it would have been cleaner, but not sure if my machine would have been capable of such a deep cut. Maybe if I slowed the feed rate I would have been OK - I'm still a bit new to this. At any rate, I was satisfied with the quality of the cut, and can see myself using this end mill quite a bit in the future. ... show more
