This router seems to be well made. So far so good. I have mounted this as my bench top router and it does really well once you get used to the adjustment slots and the release button. It would be nice for it to have some type of rack and pinion system like my Makita or something to keep it aligned so you don't have to look under the table every time you want to adjust the depth, but other than that it is a very nice product for the money. ... show more

Something worth noting about this router is how solidly engineered it feels. Right from unboxing, you're holding a heavy, but well-balanced piece of machinery in your hands. The depth adjuster and locks are well-engineered and easy to work without being something you'll hit by accident. The power and speed switches have a good feel to them and the operation indicator light is easy to see even in a bright room. All of the mechanical parts fit perfectly, and the soft start feature helps the tool from kicking out when you start it, particularly at higher speeds. I was able to get a new bit mounted and round-over the edge of a piece of wood very quickly. The handles have a great shape and feel to them, and there's great visibility of the cutting area with the LEDs shining down in there. For an around-the-house hobbyist, this does a great job at a very nice price. A case or bag would have been a nice addition, but its absense probably kept it under $100. I also really wish the power switch was something other than a horizontally-operated toggle switch. I would have preferred something more easily visible, like an up/down switch or a push/pull like on Craftsman tools, although if you're mounting this on a table, that doesn't really matter. ... show more

Got this to fit a router lift that accepts 3" diameter router motors. It was easy to remove the base, and the power switch and speed control are easy to access, although I leave the power switch on since there's a breakout box for the router table. It's a little under powered for a table mounted setup, at least for hardwoods, but it's manageable. ... show more

I needed a 1/2" capable router to do some trimming on a project I am building and saw this at Lowes (for more money). Liked it, so I read the reviews on Amazon and found they were overwhelmingly positive. I made the purchase, received it, used it on my project and it was just as amazing as the other reviewers have said! Not too heavy but solid feeling in the hands. Virtually no vibration, great speed control...just very happy! Made excellent cuts too! I have another (1/4") router, but this one is now my favorite. OH! Easy to fasten to my craftsman table, works so smooth, great product especially for it's price. Only fault, even though it's hooked up to a craftsman professional router table with vacuum, I've not figured out how to keep wood chips from being thrown all under the table because of how it's own vacuum is set up. ... show more

This is a super router for the money. I have been woodworking for almost 50 years and have had many routers. I think this is my favorite ! The precision depth adjustment is beautiful and the soft start is so nice to use. I also love the LED lighting. Great purchase !
