I dropped the rating 2 stars because of the main carpet head that comes with the machine. It spins so fast that cat litter flies out the front and the back of the head--I can feel it hitting my legs. It will also pick up lint and cat hair, wrap it in a ball and instead of sending it to the canister, also spit it out across the floor. It does send some things to the canister, like dust. Then I have to go back over the area with the wand tool to pick up the litter and lint balls. Very disappointed with this expensive machine, especially after being so happy with a Dyson upright. I have contacted Dyson to see if I can get a different head. This is my first non-upright vacuum cleaner. It was easy to snap together and get using. The suction is great, picked up all of my long hair but it gets wrapped around the brush. Will need to clean out the brush after every use, I can tell. The canister is easy to empty into the trash. I like the retractable cord. The wand is lightweight, but to get good floor contact, need to apply downward pressure on it, which I could certainly feel in my wrists. I have a 10 year old Dyson upright which I think I will continue to use for the overall floor, but this model is great to get under things without moving them and for area rugs that my upright struggles with. Everyone makes a bad purchase once in a while and this was mine. Save your money, don’t go with Dyson. Major flaws: this thing drags like a rock. The sphere just isn’t conducive to moving around a furnished house. The head is aggravating on practically any carpet/rug, the angle required for it to achieve and maintain suction is such that you have to stoop like an evil henchman. Worst flaw: emptying the canister!!! I’ve had several canister vacuums, including other dyson, emptying those canisters was never great but it was fine. This one however is abysmal! Every time you empty it prepare to scatter everything in a 10ft radius with crap. Save your money for something worth while. To Dyson: maybe get a hiring manager who actually reads resumes, so you can hire real engineers. ... show more
