I Emailed ELECTCOM PRO from the email I submitted for the warranty when I bought DVD player. After much use over a year DVD player stopped working. The DVD player was shipped quickly and arrived on time. Set up was much easier than I thought it would be. Basically it was plug-and-play. I have an Amazon Fire TV (Omni OLED 4k) and I was concerned it might not work with it. I plugged it into the HDMI slot and it worked right away. I only had to go into set up to change one setting (Video TV Type set to widescreen) and that was easy to do. I have DVD coming from other regions and I'm looking forward to watching them on this Region Free player. I like how compact this player is. It doesn't take up much room. Nice sleek design. Remote is easy enough to understand and the instruction manual that was included has helped with any questions I had. I'm happy to have a DVD player that looks good and works well and easily. I bought this player based on good value for the money. However, the first player had problems right out of the box. The disc tray would continually eject and load. I followed the troubleshooting guide and it fixed the problem for the short term. However, that stopped working and I contacted customer service. After having me perform a few checks that did not solve the problem, they sent me a new player. The second player works just fine. It has good picture quality and the sound is also of good quality. My experience with the customer service representative (Helen) was great. She was professional, courteous, and responsive in a timely manner.     • Low price and works perfectly with all my old DVDs
I bought this to replace my old big-name DVD player which always had problems playing some of my DVDs, even when it was new. This one plays every single one of them perfectly right out of the box with no setting changes needed at all. And it takes up half the space. Can't recommend this enough.

I recently had to replace my tv, and my dvd player was incompatible with the new HD tv. I ordered the Electcom Pro, as it was very reasonably priced. I am absolutely pleased with it's performance. I had no issues setting it up and playing a DVD. The most complicated thing I've done so far was to figure out how to adjust the picture ratio - which was pretty easy. Before buying this player I reviewed all the good and bad reviews. As usual, there were both to be reviewed. I dismissed those from shipping damage and not working out of the box. Then a few complained about the remote or fast forward or fast reverse. Most other reviews were very positive. A couple of the bad reviews in my estimation were due to owner ignorance. (One person complained because it didn't come with two AAA batteries as needed.) My DVD player came through shipment in good shape and was packed well by the manufacturer and the shipper. As for the remote, it is no better or no worse then the remote shipped with my Sony Blue Ray player. It is not bullet proof but equal in quality to most remotes shipped with equipment today. The manual is well written which was a surprise. (Not in Pig Latin) Unfortunately, the manual is not totally accurate for the supplied remote. But, even though the control has too many buttons for my satisfaction, it is fairly intuitive. Someone mention they could not forward or reverse the player or stop start from where you left off. This is not true. All these things can be done but for example when you push the stop button it stops but then you must push the start/stop symbol button to start it again from where you left off. This is a different button with just a symbol on it and is not the stop button. If you had pushed the power button and then turned the player on again it would not start from where you were when you turned it off. The bottom line is experience will teach you how to work around the players little quirks. If you watch a DVD in it's entirety, the quarks won't be noticed. I did notice when you boot up the player it may not take you to where you want to be on the DVD. Push the MENU button and it will take you to an area where you can select where you want to be on the DVD. (A series I have contains two TV shows on one disc. The menu button takes me to a page allowing me to select which show I want to watch.) Bye the way, this player is exactly the same size as my small Sony Blue Ray player.) The player has a permanently mounted US AC power cord attached to the player. (No plug in power adapter needed.) The picture quality of the player is good too. I have not noticed quirky jumping around the DVD either. It plays well. So for the money, this is a good choice. I'm glad I purchased it. I needed a player that would allow me to watch DVDs from other REGIONS. (I have an interest in War TV series and War movies from around the world thus requiring a universal region DVD player.) Yes, I would buy it again if needed. I'm a Broadcast Engineer and know a little about what I am talking about. I think most potential buyers of this player will be satisfied with it. You will just have to learn your remotes small quirks. Intuition and trial and error will get you there. It's not a big deal. ... show more

When I discovered this all region DVD player, it played quite well. So much so, I ordered another one. I have a lot of imported DVD box sets and movies. All of a sudden, the player was skipping DVD's. And, forgetting where it was last played. I used lens cleaner for the player and wipes for the discs. The first player lasted about 9 months, the other one is now showing signs it will do down the same path. Moral of the story Economically priced, but, technically, not a long lasting item. Does a great job on CD's. Fair on DVD's. Difficult to figure out how to use the remote, as instructions give no hint. The use of all buttons is not intuitive. When playing CD's, the screen has a permanent "Quick setup" instruction, that simply says plug in the cords, and turn on. It would be nice if this notice could be replaced with a simple scenic picture or even no picture, since the quick setup instructions don't relate in any way to the CD music. OK for the price.
