I had to replace the original brine tank since the previous owner apparently never cleaned the tank. There was 14 inches of salt block in the bottom of the tank which interfered with the float assembly operation. Easiest thing to do was replace the entire thing. The float mechanism and tank connected perfectly to the existing system and are working perfectly. Purchased this to replace the tank on my Fleck 5600. First thing I noticed is it does not come with a platform to keep the salt off of the tank bottom. Second thing is it has a float arrangement that allows the brine level to rise almost to the overflow. My old unit kept the level under the salt. Needed the tank now so installed it but not pleased especially considering the price. ... show more

    • The bottom is not quite flat. When empty, it rocks a little on a flat surface.

There should have been a connector for each end of the hose included. Instead there was only one. I managed by re-using a connector from the hose it replaced.
