I used a 3/8 socket wrench to fit into the clamp for removal. It pushes the upper joint out easily. I don’t know why the other reviewers break them maybe they use an impact gun or bad technique. Just take your time and make sure the clamp is on it properly and you’re good to go.

Good product as long as you use them properly. In the pictures shown at the top of this ad, three of the four tools are shown being used improperly. If they are used in this manner they can break and cause personal harm.

Really wasn't to happy about this product, I had high hopes as I own a fee duratech wrenches and kinda liked the quality. I have an 07 jeep wrangler, this product was no good size wise for the pitman arm or any of the joints. To small. I compared it to my snap on set.. (I know this isn't snap on quality) but these narrow up so fast that I can't see them fitting anything but a compact car. Also broke one of them in 2 mins.. no impact gun, just wrench turn it. I'll likely give the remaining 4 to someone who has a small car to maybe try to use. I'll give it 3 stars, I knew better, just wanted to try something from the company other than wrenches. Might work OK for a newer compact car.

It seperated 15 years old BMW (2007 BMW 328xi) left and right front tension strut (thrust/control arm) from ball joint. Used "Tie Rod and Ball Joint Remover" with 17mm 1/2in impact socket and breaker bar.

Dura tech tools definitely give decent value for the money you spend. No they’re not Matco or snap on, but you’re also not paying Matco or snap on prices. Unless you own and run a garage, I could see very little need for a specialty tool that maybe use 3 to 4 times in your life. At least, in my case that’s how I see it. The steel quality of these tools looks very durable and the through bolt is nice sharp fine thread for solid steady correct pressure to be applied. Overall, I’m pretty happy with these.
