  • NICE!
I've been using these strings on my 5's for quite awhile now. I love the gauge , the feel and the tone. They also last longer than a lot of other bass strings. Win! Win!

  • ... 5 string - Aguilar rig These strings combine the best of all worlds - bright
Sadowsky 5 string - Aguilar rig These strings combine the best of all worlds - bright, lots of growl, excellent feel, and fat warmth. Love DR HI Beams, but they lack warmth when needed - Sadowsky stainless blues have fantastic tone, great growl, excellent fundamental tone, but the feel is very tight, not as comfy as the DR's. Sadowsky nickle blues - nice growl, great sound, much warmer, also a little quieter - the tapered B string is the best sounding of all B strings. The E String seems a little quiet in contrast to the B (we're splitting hairs here). Even still, the Sadowsky Nickels also have that tight (inflexible) feel. The Dunlops have a more flexible feel, and seem to hold up under varied tonal demands (Motown to Slap), I'm able to dial tones that stay consistent through the spectrum. It's amazing what Dunlop has been able to accomplish in 12 years of string manufacturing. YMMV depending on your style, bass, and rig - but for me the testing is over, and sticking with Dunlop Super Bright nickels. cheers! ... show more

  • Great Bass Strings Period
I love Dunlop Surer Bright strings for guitar and bass, the bass stings are balanced, with a focused round tone with clarity. They are bright but not harsh bright, they are also warm sounding and very flexible, easy on my hands. The work great for slap, pick or finger styles and at $20 for a 5 string set, what is there not to like. I've used both the nickel and steel, but I prefer the nickels. Check them out. ... show more

  • Great Sounding Strings
I put these on a vintage MIJ Fender MB5, replacing a set of Rotosound 66's, which were also nice. I was worried these might might be too "bright" or sound "whiney". But Marcus Miller likes them , so I figured I'd see what the deal was. They turned out great. I actually get more "grunt" out of them, and have more ... show more

  • These strings are as good as advertised.
These are by far the best strings on the market in my opinion. They feel good and make my basses sound as if I got better pickups and I use Bartolini’s. They may be a little too bright for some and I don’t know about longevity yet but they’re worth the price.
