This awning is great! It does a great job keeping train and debris off the slide out. It was the best price for the size we needed. It had a great installation video and instructions. We had a slight issue with the way we put it up. This was an interpretation error on our part. On the side of the arms are a R and L. Pay attention to the picture on the instructions. I believe the R is looking at the camper not away from. I would buy this again.

Seems to be of good quality. Instructions show how it goes together, but doesn't address sealing. Instructions also don't tell you that the connector tubes are inside the other tubes. Screws that came with it were too small. I found that 1-1/4 innh number 10 sheet metal screws worked to secure awning track and slide out brackets. What i didn't anticipate was the lack of anything solid (backing) to screw into. I called three RV dealers for my Salem/ Forest River to see how they do it. They said the newer lighter units don't have much to in the wall to attach to. I am satisfied with finished product . I'd recommend using an outdoor UV resistant adhesive sealant for the slide out brackets, and sidewall runner for fabric attachment Also you will need to drill some holes in the hardware. Everything is aluminum so stay away from common steel hardware. I would not recommend DIY installation unless you are mechanically inclined, and familiar with building techniques.

I purchased the 13’-9” awning for my 2025 Jayco Jay Feather. My camper has contoured siding so I was concerned about where to mount the brackets on the slideout. I contacted Jayco to see where they have structural provisions to mount awning brackets but they would not provide any information. I picked a flat part of the siding nearest to the top of the slideout but there was no structure behind the bottom holes (see the picture). I then contacted the service department at my RV dealership and they told me that they try to fasten the brackets as near as possible to the top bezel of the slide out. I moved the bracket up to partially cover the black bezel so I needed to add a ¼” spacer to level out the uneven surface of the camper siding. I used a piece of PVC plastic trim and cut it to thickness. I attached it to the slide out with deck screws using silicone to seal it and attached the bracket to the spacer with more silicone and SST screws (added the second pic). Originally, I used butyl tape behind the bracket to waterproof the assembly and when I measured the self-tapping screws that were provided there was very little thread engagement and self-tapping screws aren’t really necessary to attach the brackets and awning channel to the camper. I used #10 x 1-1/4” SST Screws to attach the brackets to the slide out and #8-18 x 1” galvanized screws to attach the awning extrusion to the camper. I also found it easier to drill 3/16” clearance holes in the awing extrusion. On my particular assembly I located the holes 1-1/2” in from extrusion each end and 5” on center. The screws provided to set the roller bars and the set screws for the awning were fine. I was impressed with the quality of the fasteners and did not strip the heads which usually happens with a lot of kits.

Easy to install, I recommend watching the videos a few times to get the best way to install it. My wife and I had them up in about 3 hours. My canper came with the awning track already mounted over the slidouts so that saved us some time. Two good 8 ft ladders a tape measure a sharpie and screw gun was all we needed. Oh, a folding table to set everything on to keep it off the ground was a good idea.

Install was pretty easy, definitely easier with two people! The quality right out of the package seems good! So far seems to work just fine, will update after taking it out camping. I went with a slightly bigger size so I could have about 2 inches extra over hang from the slide out on the sides and it fits exactly how I wanted it to! Definitely go with longer screws if you don’t have anything sturdy to screw into and don’t forget to put your butyl tape behind the mounting brackets!! I went the extra step and put sealant all around the brackets as well, because after all you’re adding about 20 holes in the side of your trailer. Better safe than sorry! Overall I’m pretty happy with the purchase for the price!
