Description

The Nomadic 270 passenger side awning is a vehicle-mounted, 270-degree awning designed to provide 129 square feet of shelter. It is a one-person, quick- deploy operation that uses pivoting aluminum poles for support and includes heavy-duty, rip-stop poly cotton material, and a 1000D PVC travel cover. It is constructed from 600D poly cotton rip-stop material with heat-sealed seams for water resistance. It's designed to be mounted on roof racks and can be used with optional walls for added protection. It features a heavy-duty aluminum frame, boxed aluminum rafters, and pivoting aluminum adjustable poles for stability. It's designed for one-person, quick deployment and does not require poles for setup under normal conditions, though poles are included for windy or rainy weather. Includes ballistic nylon tie-downs with S connects and buckles, and heavy-duty stakes for anchoring in windy conditions. This awning is backed by a Four Year Limited Warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship.

If you're considering getting one of these and not sure about the quality since it's on Amazon (that was us πŸ™‹πŸ»β™€οΈ), then you'll def want to read this! Hopefully it will answer any questions you may have. We decided on the passenger side because if we are at a campsite we back in and that means the picnic tables and what not are on the passenger side. No regrets on that so far. My husband has probably gone well over 100mph with it on the truck (*zipped up*) and it hasn't even budged. We (let's be real, he) mounted it on our roof bars. The awning itself has held up in some pretty intense Oklahoma wind and rain with the poles on and tied down. We are able to open the back and side windows on our camper shell (or topper if you're from the north) with no problems. We have a tent that connects to the back of an SUV that we sometimes add on and it fits under the awning too. You ARE able to use the awning without the poles and without tying it off. We have even done this in probably 20mph winds and it holds up VERY well. We do plan to get all of the walls at some point and ditch the tent. It's super quick and easy to pull open and to shut it back and zip up. Overall, a great buy for the price! I do plan to update more with picture and video and some more details. Adding to my review... We've had this for almost 2 years now and it's still holding up great. No rips/tears or anything breaking and we use it probably 10 times a year. It has rained on us a few times and water will pool up on top if you don't tie it down so it drains off. Still 5 stars! ... show more

The awning fit and installed as described. My husband was able to install it by himself but it did take a bit of work on his end to do so. After the install, it is super easy to setup and breakdown at camp. We like the adjustable legs but one of ours does tend to fall out and has gone in a creek or down a bank a time or two! As long as we are careful and pay attention when we are setting up and breaking down it’s not a problem. We wish we had made the decision to buy the awning sooner. We do van builds and this is our 2nd 270 awning. We do microcampers and can deploy this without a ladder or or step stool. Easy to deploy, very sturdy. We usually don't even use the legs. Great awning.

This is a great Awning. It comes with everything you need including brackets and hardware to attach the brackets to a trailer that has 1" cross beams (u-bolts, bolts, nylon locking nuts, etc). It came with two additional polls besides the ones that come attached to the awning and all needed straps, ropes and spikes. It is a very generous kit. it has great coverage for a 10'x5' trailer. I will get the side walls next to get additional weather protection when needed. I have seen these walls in action at a recent Expo and it is a great kit with everything needed including great storage bags. Deploying this Awning is fast and simple. Putting it way is more difficult and it pays to follow directions and practice ahead of time so you don't get frustrated when cold or rainy. There is a method and I still find it a little challenging being short to get it all inside the bag and zipped up. There are three straps that hold the awning in place when put away that I wish had a couple of more inches of length to get them initially strapped and make synching up easier. Anyway, that is the reason for my 4 stars. If that was improved, I would give it 5 stars. ... show more

Best value awning for the money. It got to me in 4 days. Install was pretty easy for me. I installed on yakama heavy duty bars. The hardware they send is universal. For the heavy duty bars, I had to run to the hardware store. The top bolts they supply, were too small. I used 3/8x1 1/2" carriage bolts for the top groove mount. Super sturdy! As the reviews say, easy deployment, takes a little longer to brake down. I'm sure I'll get better the more we use it. The outer bag is just big enough to hold the awning. I wish the poles, stakes, and guid lines would fit in the bag. ... show more

    • Disappointing build quality, excellent coverage, difficult to put away.
After doing a TON of research (who am I kidding, mostly youtube), I pulled the trigger. Pros: Huge! Tons of coverage! Easy to setup. Cheap compared to comparable units Steel mounting brackets are very robust. I have no concern with the mounting brackets failing. (My roof rack may) Cons: The build quality is disappointing. There is a LOT of play in the hinges. WAY more than I would have expected. You will absolutely have to use the supports. This makes it VERY difficult to put away. I have it on an SUV and if I don't really work at it, it will block my doors from opening/closing. I am a strong guy too, a person who is not as capable would have a rough time with it. Installation instructions were garbage. Installation hardware was not great either. Head turner when set up. It is super functional and passers by want to ask about it. Summary: It's cheap compared to other 270 degree awnings, however I expected a bit more for around $1000. ... show more
