  • Ski Rack on a budget!!!
It was easy to install on crossbar the only thing is the screws that tighten on the crossbar where a little to long so I shaved them down!!! It fits two pairs of skis and two snowboards… or three snowboards and one pair of skis… it fits two pairs of skis, one snowboard, and two shot skies!!! What was the greatest thing is that I only needed to use one key and I can have the rack open while on the slopes without having to keep the key in the lock!!! ... show more

  • Would be 5 stars if the nuts fit properly
Used this rack for last season, and just now getting around to taking it off (now that volcano season has come to an end - for me), but the nuts seem to be too small for the plastic pocket that they sit in, so 5 of the 8 bolts did not want to come off. Luckily for 3 of the 4 connections at least 1 bolt came off, but that last one both were stuck, and you cant get a wrench up in the pocket to even hold the nut in place to be able to screw the bolt off. After a lot of trial/error a nail wedged into the pocket with the nut worked (but not ideal). I was going to reach out to the company to see if they could supply new bottom pieces, since those nuts clearly don't fit, but I can't even find a way to contact the company - so maybe this review will do the trick? If I can't get the part replaced my best thought would be buying some washer to put into that pocket for next year and having the nut exposed so I can get it tight and loose with a wrench. ... show more

  • Came Broken/used or returned by someone else
I can’t really write a proper review as the one I bought/received was broken. Two of the plastic clamps that attach to your roof bars were cracked & someone tried to superglue them back together. It was also missing a few pieces of hardware required. The good thing is I noticed this immediately & was able to put everything back in the box & return it to the UPS store. Amazon provided a refund very fast. Thinking about why this happened- using plastic clamps to secure on a metal roof rack for a product intended for cold weather use is probably not the best. I know my kayak racks get installed with metal clamps. I don’t know how or if that’s the reason the person who had this unit before me ran into & cracked the plastic but it would make sense. The aluminum rack itself looked great, opened, closed & locked properly. But as said I was never able to attach it to my Jeep Cherokee roof. Anyhow after being disappointed in receiving a broken unit & seeing it was plastic I decided not to get another of this brand & found another with metal clamps for a more secure attachment. ... show more

  • Great budget Ski Rack
My college age son decided to get into skiing, and wanted to use my SUV whenever he goes skiing with his friends. I decided to spend on a Inno roof rack and a budget ski rack. Amazon recommended this reasonably priced ski rack, and it has been a winner He has been going skiing every week for the past 2-3 months, and have used it with skis and snowboards. So far no complaints and no damages .... and no possible nicks/tears in my SUV interior. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Very good value.
Very good value. High quality. Couldn't be happier. I had read a complaint before I bought that you can't close it without locking them. This is true, but it seems more like a feature than a bug to me. I find them very easy to use. The lock quality is actually higher than some other brand name rack equipment that I own. ... show more

  • Nuts!
Sooo... would have been 5 stars except for the nuts. For the price, you can't beat it. I have 2 snowboards (one on top of the other) and 3 pairs of sks on it. Locks tight, and have travelled between Missouri and Denver so far without issue. My only criticism is that where they have machined out the hexagonal pockets for the nuts to be held captive in the plastic cross-bar fittings - either the nuts are too small or the pockets are too big. Either way, when you get to the point where you want to get that last turn, and really tighten it down, the nuts spin around - and there is no way of stopping it. Just a detail, but an important one if you want to make sure they are secure. ... show more
