To be honest I had no real practical application for this… My mavic is pretty much my go to for getting aerial shots but I always had this nagging feeling it could be doing more, ya know, like be my own personal flying errand boy. Then I stumbled across this mechanical claw grabber thing, and the part of my brain that never fully developed immediately went "Oh, we totally need that." Attaching it to my Mavic (I've got the Air 3S) was actually less fiddly than I expected. I haven't used it to say, airlift a stranded kitten from a tree yet though the thought has crossed my mind for peak internet stardom. But I have used it to deliver a cold one to my husband chilling in the hammock across the yard, which felt like living in the actual future. It's not going to be picking up bowling balls obviously and you definitely have to be smart about the weight, but for small, light items, it's surprisingly nifty and makes my drone feel less like just a flying camera and more like a useful little multi-tool. If you've got a compatible DJI drone and want to add a new layer of "hey, that's actually pretty cool" functionality for deliveries, maybe some light deliveries, or just messing around, this claw system is a ton of fun and genuinely works. I've got a mavic 3 and wanted to setup a battery camera on top of a building next to the chimney cap. I didn't want to risk the drone by flying too close to the structure, but I got this to try it out. It wasn't that hard to get this claw onto the drone, it took me longer to figure out how to secure the camera in the claw to ensure it didn't end up crooked when the claw was opened. Did it though, safely carried the camera up and was able to use the drone to pick up the camera later on. does feel a bit like the future that we have access to this technology; we're not at heavy lift consumer drones yet but hey i'll take a claw that functions out of the box on my consumer drone. ... show more
