  • EXACTLY What I needed
Color: Silver Vein Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Configuration: Wheelchair
Yes, this chair is narrow. The description says it's narrow. the seat is 17" but the width between the arms is 14.5". This is not for a larger person. It is lightweight but heavy-duty and PERFECT for my father. I only wish that when the foot rests are not in use, they would strap back or snap back in place. They flop forward causing the chair to be wider. For now, I removed them and put them in a tote bag to carry with the chair when needed. They could also be tied back if necessary. Other than that, it's sturdy, rolls smoothly, easy to turn corners and go through a standard doorway without removing the door (which is why I wanted a narrow one). I purchased used/like new and only the box was damaged! The chair is fine!!! Cha-Ching! I love saving money!!! Very happy with it and well worth the full price if a used one isn't available. I got lucky. Medical supply stores more than double the list price! ... show more

  • Lightweight and dependable transport chair
Color: Silver Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Configuration: Wheelchair
A great purchase! I bought this chair one month ago for an elderly relative in her 90s with dementia and hip issues. She had been borrowing a friend’s wheelchair for a while but, after an accidental fall, the friend suddenly needed her chair back. I admit being nervous about the purchase because I needed to make a quick decision. Normally, I would prefer to buy something like this in a brick and mortar store and take my time trying out models with my relative. However, my relative needed a wheelchair/transport chair asap. (There was no way she was getting out the house without a transport chair!) Plus, at $95, the price wasn’t bad. The detailed reviews on here were also very useful in determining which model to get. Thank you, fellow reviewers! This model is lighter than other wheelchairs and easy to load in a car. In addition, it has secure breaks, enabling us to safely transfer our relative from a chair into this transport chair and from the transport chair into the car. Previously, I was eying another model, the one with slightly larger back wheels, but negative reviews about the breaks scared me away. As mentioned by the other reviewers on here, this is a great chair to use in shopping malls, apartments, houses, and around the neighborhood outside. There is even a seatbelt to secure the person in the chair. Even though I bought the bigger 19’’ model, it easily fits through doorways in a small and older house. This being said, my relative is in her 90s and doesn’t use the chair all the time. She uses it mainly on outings on paved surfaces, which are infrequent due to her age and other medical issues. In the house, she normally uses a walker, but if she is having hip pain, she will use this transport chair. From this, I can see that chair provides a smooth ride and performs well on both carpeted and non-carpeted surfaces. I cannot personally rate the performance of the chair if used daily for several hours at a time and/or on rough terrain, but see that other reviewers have been happy with the chair’s performance in demanding situations such as vacations. Due to my relative’s dementia and mobility issues, she is unable to wheel herself around. Otherwise, I would have bought a full self-propelled wheelchair (the kind with large wheels that can be moved by the person sitting in it). This was another factor I took into consideration with my purchase. While other reviewers have noted that it’s possible to self-propel, I think this chair is best suited for those who prefer to be wheeled by another person. In terms of appearance, the chair has an attractive appearance with a seatbelt and detachable leg rests. It was packed well and came clean and without defects. A care manual was included. • Nice occasional use wheelchair
Color: Silver Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Configuration: Wheelchair
My 89 year old mother has suffered from severe arthritis in her neck, spine and joints for years. She has fought a valiant fight, refusing to even use a walker until the last three years. But it had reached a point that even with a walker she finds more than minimal walking too painful on her knees. At first she was willing to use wheelchairs provided at stores so she could do some shopping but then the walk from the parking lot became too much. So family members began using a full size wheelchair kept for use by my brother’s disabled son. The problem with full size wheelchairs is that they are very heavy. On my recent visit, there were a number of places Mom wanted me to take her. But my sister knew that there would be no way I would be able to lift that chair and maneuver it into the trunk so she suggested finding a light weight one. I was a little concerned that this might be too light for safety but it ended up working out well. While not a fly weight by any means, I was able- with some effort- to lift and position it in the trunk. 50 lbs is about my normal max lifting weight, so someone with more upper body strength shouldn’t have a problem. And although lightweight, with the weight of a person it was very stable. I say that this is nice for occasional use because it is not very comfortable. Mom found the seat uncomfortable after a short time but we still had the chair pad that my Dad had used on his wheelchair at the care facility. Once we put that on, the problem was solved. I was a little concerned that the higher seat would make her pitch forward (and she refused to wear the seat belt) but even going down a slight ramp I didn’t feel any shift in her center of gravity. The other issue is the wheels. Unlike regular wheelchairs which have large thick wheels, these are very small and thin. Mom insisted that it was fine but I cringed every time I had to go over a crack in a parking lot. There just isn’t enough tire to provide much shock cushioning.. So while I wouldn’t suggest this for anyone who needs to use constantly, it is a very nice alternative to help those with limited mobility to get out and about. ... show more
