The 18" Silver Sport 2 Wheelchair with Fixed Arms and Swing Away Elevating Leg rests by Drive Medical comes in an attractive, easy to maintain, powder coated, silver vein finish, and a steel frame for durability. The urethane tires are mounted on composite wheels to provide durability and a smooth ride over most surfaces. The embossed, nylon upholstery is durable, lightweight, attractive and easy to clean. The carry pocket on the backrest provides an easy and safe way to transport personal items. Comes standard with swing away, elevating footrests, padded fixed arms, push to lock brakes and plastic footplates.

I liked my previous wheelchair that was destroyed in an auto accident, So I had to get a new chair to replace it. I wanted one with the "desk style" arm that was pictured in Amazon's advertisement. I received one with the full length arm. Since I needed a wheelchair immediately, I decided to keep what was shipped to me. It has filled my needs, and most of the time I like this one more than my previous chair. I can recommend this chair to anyone. If you work at a desk everyday, be sure to specify the "desk style" arm. My chair arrived with all the parts. Nothing was bent or out of shape, but the box is large and heavy. Super easy to assemble and use. Fits through the narrow doorways in our hundred year old home. My husband had no problem folding this up and in the trunk of our Volkswagen ! Much cheaper to buy this than rent a wheelchair after a recent foot surgery. Excellent value. Would definitely recommend this product ... show more

I hate that I have to give this fewer stars because it could have been a really fine wheelchair. The style is great and it appears it would be very sturdy. Assembly was minimal, only the leg riggings needed to be attached. With a cushion, an average sized person could be comfortable for a good long while. HOWEVER, the one we received is very near impossible to close/fold up, and even more difficult to OPEN. I contacted the company who told me a couple of things to try (loosen the bolt a quarter turn, apply WD-40) which did not help at all. So they told me I needed to return it to Amazon for a replacement. When I contacted Amazon, I was informed that they no longer had any in stock but (if I decide to return it) they would give me a credit for what I had paid and I could buy one from any of the Marketplace Sellers- for more money of course. I try to avoid doing business outside of Amazon Prime for a number of reasons but especially on large items because the buyer must often pay the return shipping if there is a problem. At this point, my husband doesn't want to hassle with trying to box it up (the box was in rough shape on arrival- and I made it worse when removing the wheelchair to inspect for damage) and take it to UPS. He wants to just donate to a local center where it can stay in the unfolded position. In the meantime, I am uncertain about giving Drive Medical another shot. I'm leaning toward trying a different brand. ... show more

When I purchased I did not ensure chair was from Amazon rather than a 3rd party seller, my fault. Size ordered was 18" and I own a 18" chair that is wearing out, and I could not squeeze my big backside in.
