  • Lifesaver after my surgery
I had emergency abdominal surgery and when I got home was not able to get off the toilet without help. This was one of the few that I found could be delivered the next day! It’s been a great help in my daily routine.

  • Sturdy
My son installed this in minutes. It does not wiggle at all. I especially like that it does not have legs to trip over. I have always had faith in the “Drive” brand and this did not disappoint

  • Close - but needs some re-design
Generally a nice unit, but the problem is that the front support that rests on the toilet bowl doesn't fit well on an elongated toilet. I had to rotate the arms to rest on the toilet, but then they don't lock into place. Further, if you push sideways on the bars as you get up, you can push the front arms off the toilet bowl, and then the arm collapses down. A simple fix would be additional holes on the front of the arms so that they can be put in different positions, and some sort of an optional lip that fits inside the bowl to prevent the arm from moving up. Another alternative would be a strong double sided tape to hold the arm in place. (Harbour Freight tape is not strong enough). ... show more

  • It does have to be installed which does take a little effort and time.
It gives my husband stability getting up and down from the toilet. He needs this since having a total hip replacement in Feb. if it moves out of place some it can pinch a bit when sitting down, however.

  • Sturdy
This product serves its purpose to help me get up from the commode. It’s sturdy and stays in place.

  • Works great with just a tweak
Installing according to the directions didn’t work for us because we have an elongated toilet, but by switching the end pieces (the part that goes under the toilet seat) to the opposite side, it now works just fine for my handicapped husband. No need for tape or drilling holes.

  • Unobtrusive toilet rail. Note assembly method.
My Mom is almost completely immobile due to osteoporosis. While she was still mobile we had a rail that was separate from the toilet for years. She now needs to use a Stand Assist machine to stand and move around. The old rail blocked access to the toilet. With it gone she felt she was falling off the toilet. She has had a few falls from her wheelchair and is deathly afraid of falling. With this unit, I can maneuver her onto the toilet, unbelt her from the machine, and she is no longer afraid of falling. The one caveat: I clean her after toilet use. If you have to "wipe" yourself, it's best to press the brass stop on the side you wipe on, and pull the rail out and rotate it to the floor. No big deal. Then put it back in place and lock it in again. It is also a lot stronger than I thought it was going to be. Manufacturer rating is 300 pounds; I'm 250 and can put a lot of pressure on the rails. I was going to put rails on the wall that swing up out of place. That would have been $140 minimum for 2. I thought $33 was steep. It's a bargain. By the way: During assembly, I attached the back to the toilet FIRST, then assembled the handles from there. Trying to get the whole thing in place in my house would be difficult. I guess you could put it all together and hold the arms out of the way while attaching, but it went together just fine the way I did it. ... show more

  • Just what was needed
It's a basic product and took maybe 10 minutes to hook it up. I take care of my 88 years mother and haven't heard one complaint
