The skirt was so large on my granddaughter when she tried it on that my daughter said she'd just save it until my granddaughter was old enough for it ro fit. Then I remembered that one of the reviews I had read mentioned a mechanism in the skirt for adjusting the waist, so I looked and sure enough, there is a strip on either side of the back inside that has about 10 positions for adjusting, and it now fits perfectly with all that room for growth. These were the only decent ones, style wise, that I could find with the attached shorts, which was a requirement for my daughters school. They fall right at her knee and she didn't seem to have any issues moving around in it at school. My only complain is the sizes are very difficult. Had to order a couple times because first time it was way too big but she has a bigger butt than waist so anything other than leggings fits her difficult. She is 50inches tall and 65lbs, she typically wears a medium but the 8s were almost too big. However the waist adjustment helped enough that these should fit her through the year with any growth and with her shirt tucked in. Their size chart isn't the most accurate but the fabric is nice, both sides of waist adjust, haven't had issues with the zipper. We wound up getting 3 Navy Color and 2 Khaki. ... show more

I love this material in French Toast skirts. I can wash and dry them and the pleats still look crisp without any ironing. The cotton ones need consistent ironing to look good. It is also really durable and looks new for a long time. The adjustable wait is also great. Between the fabric and the fit, we get at least 2 years out of these and can still save them for the next kiddo in a few years! My only negative is that this one doesn’t have the shorts (I didn’t take off any stars because I knew that when we ordered) and my daughter prefers them.
