Mostly solid punching bag. The only reason for 4/5 is that the suction cups are not to strong. It may be our epoxy floor though. Overall a great addition to your home gym. Good quality!

I have had a few stand up bags and heavy bags and been to many mma & boxing gyms and have a good feel for a lot of different styles of bags. Stand up bags usually have that unsatisfying impact and you can't really hit them hard without them rolling around and migrating them from where you placed it. Other stand up bags I've had were also bulky and filled with water and still don't feel satisfying to hit. It's nice the bag is pretty stable and doesn't move around as much and can even go on hardwood floor without scratching it if you use the suctions cups. Prefect for any indoor use. This bag has that nice impact and weight to it because the springs absorb the shock, the texture is pretty hard, and bag doesn't move very far so its almost like hitting a heavy bag. I'm only using suction cups on a smooth surface and it is enough to hold it down and throw a pretty good punch. I'm 210 pounds and been doing mma for about 10 years so it can take a decent hit. Some people complain about knocking it down and they are under 150lbs; this is because they don't know how to throw a punch and they are pushing the bag. A punch is a like a whip and you release at the sweet spot for maximum impact so if your pushing something it wont hurt as much. When people fall from a push they dont get hurt but when you fall from a punch its not from a push its from impact and trauma to the chin. Which brings me to my cons. If you push the bag or put your weight into it from a kick or flying knee then you will pull it off the floor. For this you will have to fill it with sand. It also seems if you grab the top of the bag it might bend over time, I have no proof yet though. Some kicks will knock down the bag because kicks are suppose to try and cut through an object and not just release on impact. If you throw a tip kick from a distance like your supposed too it will work perfectly but if you a kick to the middle it will go down. It seems to be stable for headkicks and leg kicks though. I wouldn't kick the bag too hard but you can go fast enough to get impact and it can take it. Save your power kicks for the 200lb bags at the gym and get your workout and technique on this bag. This is the perfect in home bag though the hype is real.

Summary: I'm not a prize fighter by any means. I'm just a guy that likes to hit the bag for exercise. Overall, this is a good bag that looks to be very durable. I hit the bag pretty hard, and it seems like it will last. It took some time to assemble, but they give you everything you need except sand. I have a smooth floor, but it's concrete and probably not the best surface for suction cups to attach. However, they do attach somewhat. I am used to hitting a 100 pound hanging bag which has a wider diameter. This bag is narrower and you have to hit it more carefully so you don't bend and injure your wrists. I recommend this bag for exercise. Since I'm not training to actually fight, I can't speak to how good it is for that application. Details: -You will need DRY sand. I got mine at Home Depot near the bags of concrete - don't get it from the nursery because that's wet sand you'll never get it into the base. I put about 140 pounds of sand in the base. -Get a good funnel that has a wide opening on the top and bottom. The bigger the openings, the faster the sand filling will go. It's a pain, but necessary. -This bag is ideal if you have smooth floors for the suction cups, unless you're not a hard hitter. Even with the suction cups sorta working on my floor, I can still knock the bag over. -The bag itself is harder/firmer than I expected. You'll need decent gloves. I have some worn 14oz gloves that work ok. I haven't tried my 8oz MMA gloves, but they should be ok.
