  • Nice drip irrigation kit with 25 emitters (15 ground staked and 10 hanging)
The W-Dragon drip irrigation kit has the parts you need to water quite a few plants. The garden I am going to use this in is all grow bags and a small 6 inch Terra Cotta pot. Currently I have only 4 emitters but within the next month that will expand to either 8 or 9. The first picture shows everything that comes with the kit. There is almost 10 feet of 1/2 inch hose, 141 ft of 1/4 inch hose 15 emitters that stick in the ground and 10 emitters that hang in the air and drip. In addition you will find elbows, T's, plugs and couplings for the 1/4 inch tube. There are 3 x 1/2 to 4 x 1/4 adapters. Finally, there is a nice instruction book which describes all the pieces and how to assemble and use them. Basically you use the 1/2 inch tubing and install the 1/2 to 1/4 adapters emitters where you want to take water for the emitters. Each of the adapters has 4 of the 1/4 attachment points. Thus if you had one emitter for each of the 1/4 attachment points you would have up to 12 emitters. It is possible using the 1/4 T connectors to have multiple emitters on each of the 1/4 inch tubing legs. Because my current usage is small I am not sure how many emitters can operate before there is not enough pressure and your emitter flow would start to be reduced. There are no 1/2 T fittings so you have to implement a serial series of connections. A more efficient system would have 1/2 inch T fittings so you could split it into multiple 1/2 inch tubing runs (each with equal numbers of 1/4 emitters) which would be more efficient from the pressure standpoint. The W-Dragon kit comes with everything you need to get started with the exception of a pressure regulator. The Amazon product description says the system "works flawlessly even at 35 psi". Other drip systems I have like this say that they are designed to operate around 30 psi. Our water pressure is typically around 76 psi and I have been using a Senninger 25 psi pressure regulator (which I have measured to give a pretty constant 30 psi). I cannot find any information of recommended pressure beyond the product description so I have been using the pressure regulator with the 4 emitter system and it seems to work ok. The instructions and product description recommend you soak the tubing in warm water to ease pushing it onto a barbed connection. Since I am using this in the house I found it just as easy to use my hair dryer. I put it on high and use 10-15 seconds of hot air on each side of the 1/4 tubing. After applying the heat the tubing easily pushed onto the barbed connection point. Without applying the heat to the tubing it was very difficult to push the tubing onto the barbed connector so I highly recommend it. So far none of the tubing has come off the barbed connection points during usage. The second picture I have attached shows one of the drip emitters in my 6 inch Terra Cotta pot. The W-Dragon kit comes with everything you need for up to 15 emitters that stick in the ground and 10 emitters that hang in the air and drip. I wish I had more information of the maximum number of emitters this type of system will support and information on recommended water pressure requirements. So far it is working great. Within 1 month I will expand the system to 8 to 9 grow bags (the largest of these will be 10 gallons and the smallest 5 gallon for different sized plants). I will update my review at that time with my observations on pressure issues and any information I find that might be of value. ... show more

  • A little fiddly to install, but an excellent kit
I only take from vine what I need or use. I am building a self-sufficient garden and this was/is used for some of that. I took some time to do this review so you can have some confidence in it. However lets start as I always do, there is no longevity test here, so that's still up to determine. As ever with things outdoors this will have to stand bot the hot summers of Texas and the freezes, which is not plastic friendly. Anyways that said I like this kit. It was way too much (probably a good thing) for my 6x6 U shaped garden bed that I decided to trial it on. I have probably used about 1/2 the items, but that means I do have spares which I like. A small gripe that the main hose feed is a bit on the short side but its advertised as such so if you want to get all the way to a faucet/tap on the wall, you may need to invest in another feeder hose. I have basically made this ready for an underground feed which isn't there yet and if you intend to do that you'll be fine. You may/will need some garden wire. The cable ties that come are fine but they don't really work for me especially for adjusting the sprays when you get to that part. Now as I said its an excellent kit, but its tight to fit. Frustratingly so so I marked down the easy to use. IN the end you just persist and persist. Its the smaller pipe and the junctions that are the worst because those are fiddly to work with. you really can use grips because that would likely tear the pipe or break the plastic connections. I haven't tuned the system and I've kept the pressure down in case anything "pops" due to the aforementioned fiddly fittings. But it should work. Once I am happy with the layout I might glue some of the connectors in and seal with plumbers tape (some is provided). I mean it doesn't need to look good even though they have made it look good. You'll have to judge the value of the kit. I probably, excluding the main feed pipe, could have done two beds with the kit. So If and when I buy some more main feed fittings, I could use up the many spares I have left over. I think this kit would easily cover a very large bed, perhaps 20 ft in length. The reality is this kind of kit lends itself to a mix bed (mine is tomatoes, peppers, peas and garlic) and not necessary a root vegetable bed where I will just use a soaker hose. ... show more

  • Easy to install, adjustable nozzles, plenty of hardware
I like how easy this is to install! I have a small garden patch in my backyard which I wanted to 'spot water' veteran plants and this does the trick. It comes with 3 tips of watering nozzles which are adjustable. The hose was easy to connect. It says to put the hose in hot water to make it easier to connect, but I live in Texas and the hot sun did the trick for me. I didn't realize the nozzles were adjustable until I turned it on for the first time. The spray was too intense so I found if you turn then nozzle on the top of the irrigation spray, it can reduce or make it stronger. I connected this to a timer on my faucet and it waters everything precisely where it needs to be watered. The ONLY negative is it didn't come with enough larger black hose, but I think I can get some of that at the local hardware store without any issue. Overall, I'm very please with this and would recommend it to anyone who needs to water plants more precisely, or has a greenhouse and would like to make it easier to water plants. ... show more

  • Spend some time now to assemble will save time and money later, serious assembly with this
Drip Irrigation Kit, 43m/141ft Garden Watering System with Quick Adapter 1/4 Distribution Tubing Hose Adjustable Nozzle Water Sprinkler No Leaking Automatic Irrigation System Misting for Greenhouse This is certainly worth it but it took me the better part of the entire morning to put it together. It was supposed to be a gift to help my mother out with her garden and she does love it but she wasn't going to sit there and assemble this so I took the time to do it for her. The assembly time would certainly deter me from recommending anyone looking for a plug and play system, this is not that, but it is well constructed and the end result is worth it. ... show more
