I bought this kit several months ago because in needed to install a drip irrigation system for my extensive collection of pot plants in my front, back, and side yards. I had no clue what I was doing at first, I only knew what I needed to accomplish. To make it even more challenging I needed to operate the entire drip irrigation system from front yard faucet which has water even when I turn the water off to the rest of the house when we leave town. I ended up using over 250 feet of 1/2 inch tubing to supply water to all of my plants. Not everything was included in the kit that I ended up needing. I had to buy additional 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch tubing. I also needed additional connectors, goof plugs, etc. I found out quickly that the parts that I could find at my local big box hardware stores were inferior to Drip Depot products. Bottom line, with the help of this kit I was able to install a sophisticated drip irrigation system for my outdoor pot plants. I would have been lost without the kit for a starting point.     • coupler nuts drove me nuts
The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is because the lack of instructions on how to connect the couplers on the 1/2" tubing. After contacting the seller, it was resolved. The problem was that the connection is counter intuitive. All coupler connections I have made in the past had you place the coupler nut on the tubing, then attach the tubing over the barb and then screw the coupler nut to the fitting. These couplers have left-handed threads. The reason became obvious after receiving instructions. The coupler nut is left on the coupler in the presumed [on my part] tightened position. The tubing is then pushed on the fitting over the barb and the coupler nut is "loosened" i.e. backed over the tubing to secure it. All-in-all it is a great product at a good price. As an aside, depending on how many 1/4" tees you use, your thumb will feel like it has a "rut" in it for a while from connecting the tubing to the tees. ... show more

Lot’s of good stuff in this kit but no instructions. I had to scratch around on their website to figure out how the backflow preventer (labeled vacuum arrestor), filter, pressure regulator, etc. fit together and I had to go to Walmart to buy an elbow. I personally would have made different choices in what was included—too much of one thing and not enough or none of other things you need to make this work right. At this price they should reconfigure this kit a little. Edit: I finally discovered that they include a piece of paper with a QR code on it which, if you have a phone with a scanner, will take you to an instruction sheet and video on their website. ... show more

    • It works well, and simple to set up after carefully watching the video
I am happy overall with this patio irrigation system. When I first opened the box and saw all the different parts, my head almost exploded. Then I watched the online video showing exactly how to set it up, and after that it was actually very simple. I took one star away just because a couple of the connections leak, but it doesn't affect how well it works. American made, which is important because all the Chinese made Kits didn't fit American spigots. Although a little hard to figure out how to put together, it can be quickly assembled once you learn. Very good quality. Very good web site to get more pieces.

Works well, but comes with a lot of pieces that most people won't need. Save your money and buy just what you need and not the kit.

    • Bring on summer!
It took awhile to get the hang of it, and a deck with about 20 plants took most of an afternoon (doing it alone), but it's well worth it! The system (together with a programmable timer I bought separately), works great! Bring on summer!
