I bought this to help me keep a regular watering routine going in my garden over the summer (and to water while I was out of town). I set it up to water two 4' x 2' raised beds, using a 25 gallon Rubbermaid trash can as a rain barrel. I filled up the rain barrel and had the system programed to water for 15 minutes, once a day. The second day, the system started beeping at me, letting me know it was out of water. I figured this had to be an error with the leads, but when I checked my rain barrel, the water level was 6 inches from the bottom (about 5 gallons left)— not empty but it somehow pumped 15+ gallons in the programmed 15-30 minutes. The beds were saturated everywhere I had drippers. I double checked the timer to make sure I hadn't programmed it to water longer / more often. I checked to make sure all of my connections were tight and that each dripper was set to the lowest drip level. I pulled the leads out of the water and gave them a good wipe down, made sure the filter wasn't clogged, then filled the barrel back up. The same thing happened the next day. All but 5 gallons had been pulled from the barrel, the leads were completely submerged, and the system was beeping to let me know it was out of water. The next week it rained all week. I ended up turning the system off because I heard the pump engage while it was raining—something I hadn't thought about when I bought the solar irrigation system. After a week or so, I turned it back on and it seems to be working. I've gone 4 days without it beeping at me, and have heard the pump engage at least twice, so who knows, maybe the old adage of turning it off then turning it on again is all it needed. I guess time will tell. Thankfully, we've had a rainy month, so I've not had to rely on this irrigation system. I ended up buying the HIRALIY solar irrigation system to use in another bed and so far that one has worked without issue. Also, good to note, the tubing that comes with this system is smaller than the standard 1/4 inch, so if you buy additional connectors / drippers, you'll want ones that have smaller connections (or you'll need to heat the tubing up to stretch it over the standard 1/4" connectors—doable, but a pain).
