  • Does not work
Size: Without handle
I actually purchased this product so here is a truthfull review. I purchased this for a chicken coop, it is hung on the wall close to a roosting bar, the bar isn't even warm. It would be a great product if it actually worked, the product heats up but its doesn't actually heat up or keep the area warm. In my opinion this is a waste of money, if your trying to keep anything warm they would literally have to stand on the product. ... show more

  • Warm Comfort for My Serama
Size: Without handle
Having recently added the Keten Chicken Coop Heater to my setup for my Serama chickens, I'm pleased to share some thoughts on its performance and usability. I provide heat for my Serama when the temperatures drop below 50 degrees. I have been running this heater every night for 2 weeks and have had no issues with it heating up, staying heated, adjusting the heat levels, turning on, or turning off. 💡 Efficiency is Key: The radiant heat energy design is fantastic. My main reason for opting for Keten was to ensure my Serama get the heat they need when temperatures drop below 50 degrees. Running it every night for 2 weeks, it hasn't missed a beat. The energy consumption, being at a mere 100/200W, is an added plus for the wallet and the environment. 🖥️ Digital Display - A Handy Feature: The digital screen adds an element of convenience. Setting the temperature and timing is a breeze. I especially appreciate the safety feature where the heater stops if the actual temperature exceeds the set temperature. My Serama's safety is paramount, and this feature reassures me. ⏲️ Customization for the Win: With three temperature levels and five timing settings, it's simple to provide the right warmth for my flock. I love the ability to set the timer and temperature, and the heater remembering the settings every day is genuinely a time-saver. 🛠️ Installation Options: While it boasts 3 ways to install, I'd recommend hanging it. The standing feet, in my experience, aren't as sturdy. The heater can tip over easily when on the stands. That's my main qualm and the reason for deducting a star. But hanging it? A charm! 🐔 Perfect for Animals: Whether it's dogs, cats, or chickens, the Keten Chicken Coop Heater offers a consistent gentle warmth. If you've got animals braving the cold of winter, this heater might be an ideal solution. For those in the poultry world, especially with smaller breeds like Serama, this heater does its job admirably. If you're considering it, keep in mind the sturdiness issue with the stand. But all in all, a worthwhile investment for my feathered friends' comfort. ... show more

  • So excited to use this instead of heat lamps for winter
Size: Without handle
I live in a fairly temperate climate, but in the middle of winter, sometimes temperatures can get low enough that I have to figure out a way to keep my chickens warm for about a week or so. Last year, I used heat lamps and that worked ok, except I had to position them so far out of their reach that I didn't feel like they were able to stay as warm as I would like. I really like this coop heater a lot though. It is a solid, sturdy black panel. You can stand it up using base stabilizers, mount it to the wall, or suspend it from cables which are included. I think I'll probably suspend it from the cables because I feel like more chickens will be able to get warm under it rather than if it's against a wall. The cord is metal reinforced, which is a huge relief so that even if the chickens were to peck or scratch at it, they can't be harmed. There are 3 settings and they're all fairly hot in my opinion. I wish there was a lower setting, but I guess once winter actually gets here the temperature will be ok. The panel gets hot to the touch on all settings. And, while there is significant heat loss the further away from the panel you move, it's still hot enough that it's overly warm even a foot away. I think this will do a great job inside the coop during winter to help the hens stay warmer. ... show more

  • Nice

I ordered this for my brooder so I don't have to use traditional heat lamps with my newly hatched baby chicks. It heats nicely and keeps the brooder a constant temperature!

  • Let the Chickens Come Home to Roost
Size: Without handle
I am VERY happy with this warmer - I haven't had one yet, and this was my first try at something that I can keep my pets warm with. This has exceeded my expectations. First of all, don't let the pictures fool you, this is black plastic and does not change color or look hot, and it doesn't get so hot that it would burn anything that accidently touched it. Now for the pros: It's a solid piece, firm and not flimsy. It would stand on it's side on it's own, but comes with the base stabilizers that would keep it from flipping over. The hook mechanism that it comes with will allow you to hang it so your pets can come underneath for warmth. With a little work, you can decide how high to hang it, and what strength to keep the temp. The AC cable is very flexible and strong. I've never seen a cable like this, it's metal but very flexible. Overall, a very nice warmer. I can't speak to the electrical efficiency, but I'm not worried about it. If it keeps working the way it is, I wouldn't mind paying for proper warming. I will have to get a few more, since heating without light has great benefits for your little creatures. ... show more

  • Works as expected
Size: Without handle
Working great. I have it mounted on the wall at the end of the chicken roost, but only one chicken can cozy up to it this way. I think I will change it to hanging over one end of the roost so that more than one chicken can get under it, or they can move out from under if its too warm. I got this item to replace a cheaper version from a different manufacturer that died last winter after only a few months of use. When using a product like this to keep your animals alive in winter, always use two separate heaters. When my heater died last year the chickens still had a heat lamp to keep them warm until I noticed the panel heater had died. I'm hoping this one will last longer, but I'm still using the heat lamp too, just in case, although I might replace it with a second panel heater before the cold weather hits. ... show more
