Description

This device reduces incoming water pressure to 30 PSI. The 200-mesh filter captures particles in the water; filter is removable for cleaning. The ¾ in. MPT X ¾ in. MPT device connects to pipe commonly used in underground valve systems reduces water pressure to 30 PSI, which is optimal for most drip irrigation systems. The pressure-regulating Y filter is made of high-impact acrylonitrile butadiene styrene ABS treated with UV inhibitors; filter is stainless steel. The item itself seems to be of high quality. Unfortunately, it has two male connections, so you have to purchase an additional female-to-female adapter in order to connect it to a water supply. Probably the most ridiculous design I’ve seen and the company reply to this exact question by a previous purchaser was “the water goes in one end and is filtered and comes out the other” or something to that effect. The “Global” reviews are seriously skewing the 5 star rating of this product which is effectively useless without an additional purchase. ... show more

Haven't had a failure in 10 years of using these. I've installed these pressure reducers in very hot climates where heat and sunlight tend to cause things to fail. The oldest have been in operation for about 10 years, and I haven't seen any failures yet. Note that I haven't tested these in climates where the temperatures regularly go well below freezing, so I don't know how well they survive during very cold winters. ... show more

ALWAYS install these when building a drip irrigation system. They save you time and protect your system from 'blow outs' (emitters and tubing popping away from lines), while filtering tiny debris existing in your water system.
