I fill them when the level gets low. Level indicator is great. Very easy assembly. You have to cut the wicks to the correct length for your pot size if you cut them a little long no big deal. To short will be an issue but they send plenty of wick if you mess up. Plants enjoy the bottom watering and encourage roots to grow deeper to support larger plant growth. Doesn’t overwater. Let’s you bottom feed the plants by putting your plant food in the water and preventing too much fertilizer salt build up in the soil. Easy to clean between fertilizer changes. I have been using this for about a year. They are sturdy and well built. I had to change the wicking for each crop rotation but that is cheap to do. I love these things. One less worry in the garden.

Pots definitely are watered. I’ve been using fabric pots for a while now. I’ve never had roots growing out of the sides and bottom of them. The only thing I can think of is the auto watering pans. I do like the convenience only having to water every couple of days. They were easy to set up. Seems durable enough. AC infinity innovation is top notch ... show more

I placed 3 plants on the stand that were not doing that great. Droopy leaves and me not knowing if it needed water or not. So when I got the bases I took a catch man and filled it with about 1 inch of water and placed the plants in the fabric pot directly into the water to wet the bottom of the pot real good and let it soak in the water for about a minute or 2 then after putting the wick and the water into the bases I misted the top of the bases and misted the wick so everything was wet and then placed the fabric pots onto the base and within 24 hours my plants di a complete turn around and perked up and looked very happy. It's like the plants know the water is down there because the roots found that water source very fast. Amazing product. The thing I didn't like much is the level indicator and the way it could get stuck but I was able to turn the indicator until the little red thing was balance in the center and was able to tell it was free to move by lightly sloshing the water in the pot and seeing the red thing in the indicator bobbing around. ... show more

While these are on the pricier side compared to other self watering saucers, I think you absolutely get your money's worth with them! Everything is a good thick plastic, it is so well designed, even the little support in the middle so the plastic doesn't bow under the weight of the pot, I know for a fact if it were someone like Walmart making this product they wouldn't even include that! Even the little water level gauge, that's such a neat concept and really takes the guess work out of not knowing if you need to top up the water or not! I am just so happy with these and expect them to last for many years to come, well worth the money! ... show more

I bought this so I could leave for a few days without having to water or get someone to mind the plants. But by the time my trip came up my plant was huge and consuming enough that it had to be refilled every other day. My plant was the biggest and healthiest I’ve grown yet so I’m pleased about that but now looking into alternatives with a tank to supply the reservoir. But the wicking approach definitely works. One complaint is that the orange float stick must have fallen out of the level indicator on one base. It makes it unusable so I may need to find a way of rigging it as I don’t see replacements offered on Amazon. One helpful tip for filling the reservoir is to get an angled funnel. The end fits nicely into the hoe for the level indicator and I can pour a gallon into the base quickly without any splashing. ... show more
