Seems to be a good alternative to the name brand version making this a great value. Has the same plastic bracket holding the filter media together, including the tab at the top for removal. I have a Top Fin tank and was looking for an easy replacement filter so I didn’t always have to drive to the store to pick more up. These said they were the same so I gave them a try. Sure enough they are almost exactly alike. I compared side by side with my current PF-S filters from Top Fin brand an
d the only difference is that these are a little thinner. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. You hold it up and can see they both have the charcoal and around the same amount so I don’t feel these are lacking. I’m excited these will fit in my filter and will do the job just as well or at least close enough. With good fish I have to clean the tank every 4-6 weeks so I think these are perfect for that schedule.

I ordered these to use in my 5.5 gallon HOB aquarium. It's been hard finding them in store and Amazon had what I needed. They are definitely thicker than the ones bought at the pet store, but they work well and my water conditions are as they should be. I would order these again.

The media could not be loaded. I am so pleased with these filters. They appear to be as well made as the name brand…same amount of charcoal, padding and sturdy plastic structure. It cleared up my fish tank in the amount of time I expected…about an hour! They are easy to rinse between filter changes.
Just run under water. These filters are an excellent value and I’ll purchase again in a heartbeat. I recommend highly.

These filters fit just the same and work just as well as Top Fin. I think they are actually a little but thicker. I also always use a 50 micron water polishing post-filter along with the filter cartridge just to keep the water cleaner, and it still all fit in the unit. Will reorder.
