I am a travel nurse and I live out of furnished finders when working. When I had to find housing last minute after a terrible experience with a landlord, I found a listing for an older home that had been remodeled and it looked very nice in pictures and in person. It wasn’t until after I signed my lease and moved in when I realized that the house did not have a central HVAC system. This was because of the age of the house. The only thing that heated and cooled the house was a wall unit that worked fairly well, however, a winter storm hit and frigid, “ arctic”, temps came quick. The wall unit could not keep up and kept going into “defrost mode” and when it did this the house got cold quick. I began looking for heaters, I wasn’t a fan of the thought of depending on one because I know they can be dangerous. I ran across the Dreo brand and saw that they had many positive reviews and features I was looking for. Auto shut off if the unit was tipped over, thermostat control, oscillating, remote controlled. I caved and bought this model for the living room area, and two smaller models, one for the bedroom and one for the bathroom. When they came I was shocked at how small they were and was skeptical about if they would even be worth it. These heaters are small, but the heat and power they put out is not and they do a very quiet job of it too. So quiet that I at first didn’t even know if it was on and blowing until I felt the air myself. They not only keep the house warm in addition with the wall unit running, but I have noticed I don’t have to run the wall unit as much, it takes the work load off from it, and I’ve even had multiple times where I have had to turn the heaters off because the house gets too warm. Another feature I like that I didn’t realize they all had was that I can switch them over to just a regular fan mode and it circulates the air. Very nice, very powerful, and very nice looking as well. I highly recommend this brand. They saved me and my pups from freezing to death this winter. ... show more

This heater works well for my bedroom. Its timer makes it perfect for sleeping and not overheating the room or using too much energy. The saftey features are good for when my dogs play and knock the heater over. The oscillating mode is ok but doesn’t really work in eco mode. Super pleased with the Dreo heater. Works great, easy to operate, whisper quiet, lightweight, heats great, and the remote is really handy. The matte white finish, brushed silver accents, and sleek modern design blend nicely into any room without it sticking out like a sore thumb. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is no cord storage. And it is just a bit tippy. A retractable cord or wraparound space at the base for the cord and a slightly wider base for stability would make this heater a Perfect 5--even if it had to be a little larger, I would certainly buy this again. ... show more

Functionality of this heater ranks higher than any previous models I have tried. Fast and efficient and works well for my office. The remote control is great for switching between functions. It’s super quiet so you barely tell it’s running.

    • Warms up my wife's office space.

My wife is always cold. Her office is in our basement, which is usually colder than the upstairs of the house. Her office is not in a closed off small room, it's in a corner of the finished basement. The entire finished basement space is about 750 sq ft. When she asked me to look into some type of space heater I didn't think I would find anything that would work. Most of these smaller space heaters seem to handle a max of about 250-300 sq ft. But I figured I'd give this a try and see how well it might heat the area where she works. To my surprise she loves it. She keeps it near her feet and uses the remote control to turn it on and off as needed. She likes that it oscillates which means she doesn't have to worry about manually changing positions on it. And it's quiet. She's on meetings a lot and she said it doesn't interrupt her at all. She accidentally knocked it over one day and it turned off, so I know that function works. And she claims the air flow is quite powerful for her area and she doesn't need to keep the fan on high speed. My only concern is what it's going to do to our electric bill. I just had to submit my meter reading yesterday so my bill will be coming in any time now. I don't think it will matter because I know I'm not going to get her to stop using it now. :-) She's quite happy with it and says it heats her office area nicely and she's a lot more comfortable. ... show more
