ORIGINAL REVIEW: Ordered this item (Solaris 718) as I liked the 5 heat (wattage) settings, and it looked good. Also, DREO has a pretty solid reputation. Unfortunately, when I received the item the LED display would come on and off at random times for random amounts of time. Pressing any button on the remote or unit would bring up the display again but only for 4 seconds, this I know because when powering down the unit, which counts down from 30, the display would go out at 26. Thinking I had a lemon I returned for a replacement. Unfortunately, the replacement behaved the same way. I called DREO customer support. The gentleman I spoke with was very nice and tried to help but in the end determined there was something wrong with the display and suggested I return it thru Amazon. I returned it for refund. I have another model of DREO Solaris Slim, which I am very happy with and in fact replaced this one with the 25" Solaris MAX which I am extremely pleased with. REVIEW UPDATE: Apparently DREO saw my review and the same gentleman from customer service that I had dealt with previously contacted me and offered a complimentary replacement for the Solaris 718 that I had returned twice. He stated that DREO wants their customers to be happy with the products and if I was satisfied that perhaps I would update my review. I have to say that I was impressed that a company would go that far in the name of customer satisfaction, especially since if it didn't work my update would not be kind, so I agreed. I received the new heater and have been running it for a few of days now and am happy to report that it is working great, and I am very happy as this is the heater I originally wanted mainly because of the 5 heat (wattage) settings. So now I have the 16" Solaris Slim, 25" Solaris Max and the Solaris 718. All 3 are great heaters and working well. They are quite and throw good heat, I use them all on ECO mode which works really well. I really am impressed that DREO did this for me. Looks like they really do care about their customers satisfaction.

I’ve bought and returned 3 different heaters (not from this brand) before this one and I’m finally happy with the one I have. My room is in the basement so it’s a large cold space in this jersey weather. Since my room isn’t the size of a normal bedroom, it’s tough to keep it warm in here. Even with the other heaters I’ve tried, I’m still shivering when I’m here. I’ve been using this heater all day and I’m warm!! I’m not sure how big my room is in sq ft, but it’s like two normal bedrooms big or like a long living room. This heater can effectively warm up whichever half I have it pointed towards. That’s a pretty good amount of space considering the other heaters couldn’t achieve that. TLDR this heater works GOOD. It’s kinda tall, I’m 5’5 and it reaches to my upper thigh. It’s light though. I expected it to be heavy for how tall it is so it’s easy to move it around wherever. It’s SO quiet, obviously not silent but it’s the quietest heater I’ve gotten. It has heat level settings or you can set the temperature. It has this nice control panel that lights up (the way it looks in the pic) when you touch it which is kinda cool. It looks sleek with no buttons to push. Don’t feel like getting up to change it or turn it off? That’s okay, it came with a remote too. The cord isn’t super long but it’s long enough. Again, my room is big and doesn’t have too many outlets for it to reach to, so I feel like it would be a good length for a bedroom or living room. It’s got a timer too which is nice for when i’m gonna sleep. Only solid con I can really think of is the price. I got it for cheaper than $129 (or whatever it’s at) because I bought a used one for half the price. I was hesitant buying this at first because I saw the initial price. Maybe it’s because student loans take up a good chunk of my money, but I wouldn’t buy this for $129. I’d cap my heater budget at like $80. Overall, it’s a good purchase and you should get it.

I gave this 5 stars because I can't really find anything about this heater to complain about. I live in a very old building with quite a lot of natural stone, and brick, and not enough insulation. The ceilings are 15 feet high, so therefore you have more space to heat. There is forced gas heating in the apartment, with an open loft style pipe, and vent system suspended about a foot from the ceiling. In the winter, if I use just the heat, the unit will cycle on and off almost every 20 minutes. It is loud enough that I need to raise the volume on the TV while the fan is running. Expensive, and inconvenient. This Dreo heater makes all the difference for me. I'm not entirely sure what other bells, and whistles one might want, but this seems to have everything. Great remote, very customizable for temperature, degree of oscillation, separate fan function with 3 speeds, sleep timers, safety features, etc. It heats my main living room, but also the others as they flow from room to room in my 3 quarter wall railroad style apartment. The heater is also very quiet. If you're sitting in a quiet room with the heater on, you will hear it. But the tv, or music will drown it out to the point you no longer notice it. So, for no faults that I can find, and for really working as an alternative to the central heat when needed, I gave it 5 stars.
