The clock is a handsome one; can't deny it. Sleek wood-grain, nice and smooth, plugs all go in the back to avoid crowding up the face. The display is backlit but not blindingly so. The color of the numbers as well as the adjustable brightness mean you don't risk blinding yourself if you wake up in the wee hours and glance at the clock. I can't review the alarm function since I don't need or use alarms, but it seems that turning it on or off is very easy to do. The time is easy to set. The additional charging ports in back are invaluable, and the battery backup is a clever little function that would save your bacon in an emergency if you needed your alarm to function. Again, no alarm, so that one's a bit of a useless feature for me, but I can see how it would be perfect for the average consumer. The fact that the plug is standardized and replaceable is also excellent, seeing as all my prior alarm clocks had the plug hardwired in. When the cord began to fray, it was a major fire hazard. With this, if the cord ever frays, you can easily replace it without replacing the whole clock. A breath of fresh air in terms of user friendliness. The only thing this is missing is a power outlet a la an extension cord, but it's nearly impossible to find those these days. I'll make my peace with it just having a USB port. ... show more

Just an impulse purchase as the clock by my bed was really small, I'd wake up and not sure of the time too often. This clock goes from a 1 to 5 on their own brightness scale. Setting 1 is great in a dark room as you can see the digits but they're not too bright. The 5 brightness setting is good in a well lit room. You don't have to go through a long menu to get to the brightness setting either, it's nice and quick. We bought this to be able to see what the time is in our darkened TV room. The clock itself is not too big, and that is good, but the numbers are, so it's very easy to read. It was easy to set up, and it has a switch to set for daylight saving time that will adjust automatically when the time changes. That's very convenient! This is a very clean looking alarm clock! The sound starts quiet and gets louder which I like. You can control the brightness as well. I love this clock! I had previously purchased a simple little clock like this, which was powered by USB connection to my computer. I was looking for something simple, that was bright for a room watching late at night in my liviing room. I don't need an alarm, but that clock could never keep time and had buttons the size of pin heads. It was sooo frustrating!! So when I saw this clock, I was skeptical...Much to my surprise this guy keeps time (imagine that), has buttons that are decent size and work great. Easy to set! And it has a regular electric plug. What's not to like about this alarm clock? After using it for three weeks, I have no complaints. It has a brightness control for the display as well as one that adjusts the loudness of the alarm. To shut off the alarm you do not have to fumble for a specific button. touching any button will silence the alarm. The digital display is large enough to be seen across a room, even by one with poor eyesight. I love the design, especially the wood decor finish. Very artistic and nicely crafted. Looks expensive though it is not. Though imported, the directions are simple, explicit and written in plain English. Set up is quick and easy. Easy and reliable functionality, bright (but adjustable) light, loud (but adjustable) sound, and the USB port even charges faster than "molasses" like most things that stick them on seem to. It's a surprisingly good clock that also looks very nice on my wood table of a similar color. Very pleased

The wood is rather impressive... Not tacky and so much prettier than a plastic one. I can't stand bright alarm clocks so I love that it is dimmable! Worth buying, for sure!
