The clock is very nice and aesthetic. The wooden feeling is smooth and feels durable enough as long as you don't plan to throw it around. The ability to change the LED colors is very nice, even if you only plan to stick with one color. The brightness is overall good but even the lowest setting might be a bit too bright for some people in a completely dark room. However, it is still very readable in a lit room too. The time so far has stayed accurate, but it will take a few months to see how off it can get. The alarm feature is nice too, loud too, even though I don't plan to use it. This version of the DreamSky clocks does lack some features like temperature display or a radio, but it's more form(aesthetic) over functionality and for those who just want a nice looking simple clock.

This is a super clever device. It's made of plastic but looks good and matches the wood grain of my end table. The numbers are in amber, easier on the eyes, are large for those of us who don't sleep with their glasses on. The numbers seem to float on top of the surface. Nicely designed and easy to set. This is a really nice clock. Easy to see across the room and the brightness is easily adjustable. I really like everything about this clock, that is until we had a power failure and the clock did not maintain the correct time when the power returned. I tried different batteries and tested them to no avail. Thought I would email their support link and didn't really expect a response. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed when I did receive a reply the next day and a replacement that worked perfectly a few days after that. I would recommend this clock and seller to anyone.

Finally, a bedside clock that doesn't disturb my sleep with obnoxious light while still enabling me toIcan read it at night. I have the version with red lights. It's wonderful that it lets you select anything from faint light visible only with dark adapted eyes to a fairly bright light visible in daylight. The user interface for setting the time and light level are pretty straightforward.

I was on the fence about this alarm clock after reading the reviews, but I couldn't pass up it's unique look. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the "walnut" finish looks...it really looks real, and the sheen is nice (not glossy or plasticky looking). I did have to read the instructions on how to set it, since it's a bit different than alarm clocks I've had in the past (this may just be a 'me' issue). But using it on a daily basis is pretty intuitive. Once it's set, you can press ANY of the buttons on the back of the clock to get it to shut up. You don't have to find the 'off' button, which is the third from the right, unless you want to shut the alarm completely off - like on the weekends. Otherwise it will just reset for the next day automatically when you hit any button. The snooze button on top isn't really a button at all, which took me a few days to get used to because my old clock had to be depressed until it clicked to 'hit' the snooze. This one is so sensitive you basically just have to barely touch the top of the clock. Now that I'm used to it, I kind of like it...it's more subtle and 'gentle', if that makes sense. I also like that the alarm starts off at low volume and then gradually gets louder. For some reason, it just makes it more pleasant to wake up to, rather than going from silence to an annoying blast. Plus, I find that I wake up before it gets super loud, which is nice for the rest of the household. Now for the cons: *The USB port is great when I need to charge my Kindle every couple of weeks, but its awkward location doesn't really lend itself to a charger being plugged into in permanently, like for a phone or something. It would work for a guest for a couple of nights but not for me...my phone charger is still plugged into its own outlet on the wall. I didn't really plan to use the USB anyway, so it doesn't matter to me, but thought it should be noted. *As others have stated, the brightness of the numbers cannot be infinitely controlled...it is just several pre-set brightness levels, and there is a huge difference between 1 & 2. Level one can be seen in the dark, but not AT ALL in the daytime or even at night with a bedside lamp on. Level 2 is significantly brighter and can be seen fine in the daytime, but may be too bright for some at night. This is actually why I was a little nervous purchasing this, because my past two alarm clocks were battery powered and only lit up if I hit a button, so I was afraid I wouldn't be able to sleep if the numbers were two bright. It doesn't seem to bother me on level 2, but they really could use at least one (if not two) levels in between 1 and 2. *I think it would be annoying if you have several different wake up times, and would be constantly changing the alarm time on the clock. I had to put my reading glasses on AND get under a bright light in order to read what all the buttons say. And just the way you set it is a bit awkward, which doesn't matter at all if you're only doing it twice a year when the time changes, but I think I would hate it if I had to re-set it every few days or once a week or whatever. These are the reasons I knocked a star off my rating...there's some room for improvement. That being said, I do like using this clock, and it's like a little piece of art sitting on my nightstand. The cons are not things that really affect me personally, so I am happy with my purchase.

I get a kick out of this clock. Firstly, it's easy to read and keeps accurate timing. But I really like how it appears to be a wood-like surface and yet the display characters shine through! Of course, it's not real wood, but the effect is fun!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Dimming capabilities-this clock actually lowers the light of the display enough to be able to read the time at night, but not light up the room like a nightlight! It is also very easy to set!
