My favorite thing about this clock is how simple it is. I wanted something simple and easy to use to keep in our nursery. It is a beautiful clock! The natural wood with white numbers matches the rest of the room and is visible from all angles. I have it set to the lowest light setting which is perfect for middle of the night feedings, it’s visible but not bright enough to be distracting or annoying. During the day it’s hard to see the numbers with the lowest setting but that’s easily adjusted with the click of a button. The brightest setting is extremely bright so there’s definitely a good option in there for anyone looking for an adjustable dimmer. I haven’t used the alarm to be honest nor do I see myself using it. A perk for others though! One negative about this clock is I really wish the battery backup option kept the active time displayed or remembered it even for a limited time. Instead, each time it is unplugged it has to be reset all over again.

When first feeling (lifting) the small box that this DreamSky Wooden Digital clock is packaged in, one might be inclined to initially assume that it will be a cheap, plasticky device. But that couldn't be further from the truth. This DreamSky model has both a high quality look and feel to it. Furthermore, the orangish LED lighting doesn't overwhelm you in the dark. I know that for me, many of other blue light LED model clocks are entirely too bright at night (when you're trying to sleep), even at their lowest dimmer settings. But not so with this DreamSky model. This clock will blend in superbly with most bedside end tables. It's simple to set up and just looks great. Getting back to nighttime scenarios, I periodically tend to roll over to check the time to ensure I get up on time (I don't use alarms), and with "other" LED clocks (most of which have blue LED lighting), when I check the time, the light is too intense for me. But not so with this DreamSky model, as the orange lighting is very pleasant and not sleep disturbing. Another variable - which caught my eye and I thoroughly enjoy - is that when I have it on the lowest dimmer setting, you can only see the orange lettering at night (with just the right amount of brightness), but during the day, you can't see the numbers and all this clock looks like is one block of smooth wood, which is just fine for me. It's at night that I need to see the lettering. So yes, given it's ridiculously low price, offset by how it looks and performs, I'm giving it 5 stars.

The clock is very nice and aesthetic. The wooden feeling is smooth and feels durable enough as long as you don't plan to throw it around. The ability to change the LED colors is very nice, even if you only plan to stick with one color. The brightness is overall good but even the lowest setting might be a bit too bright for some people in a completely dark room. However, it is still very readable in a lit room too. The time so far has stayed accurate, but it will take a few months to see how off it can get. The alarm feature is nice too, loud too, even though I don't plan to use it. This version of the DreamSky clocks does lack some features like temperature display or a radio, but it's more form(aesthetic) over functionality and for those who just want a nice looking simple clock.

The Good: The clock is mostly attractive, as well as unusual in appearance, with a triangular body and a wood-like finish. While not actual wood, it has a nice wood like appearance, and the numbers show through the wood grain. You don't see any holes in the wood grain for numbers that are off. There are five brightness settings, making it easy to find settings that work day and night. I can easily read the clock across the room during the day, and set it dim enough that it doesn't bother me at night. Unfortunately, I find that my preferred daytime setting is 3 and night time is 2, so if I don't want to change it, it is either slightly too dim in bright sunlight, or slightly too bright at night. But the clock is usable at both settings at all times. One well designed feature is the brightness button is the leftmost button, so it is easy to adjust the brightness in the dark. I would have preferred a clock with a light sensor and an automatic dimmer. The controls are easy to use, and the buttons are easy to press. Unlike most digital clocks, there are + and - buttons for adjusting the time, so you don't need to go all the way around to set the clock back, (and don't have to worry about going too far, and needing to cycle again!) There is a battery backup. While the display turns off when the power is out, the time does come back when the power comes back. The alarm seems to work. Since I generally use my phone as an alarm, I haven't done much testing. After a week, the clock appears to keep time well. The Bad: There does not appear to be a low battery indicator. I guess I'll find out when the batteries are low after a power fail. Furthermore, without the battery, the clock resets to midnight and doesn't flash, so if it happens to reset near midnight, the clock could be wrong, but I wouldn't know it. I don't know how long the batteries last, but if I want to rely on it, I'll need to test the batteries every so often. I like to set my clocks accurately. Generally, when I set a digital clock, I'll set the last minute just as the minute ticks over on my phone. For this clock, the time set mode times out after 15 seconds, so I have to be carefully when setting the time exactly. Furthermore, the + button is also the alarm on button (when not in time setting mode), so if I'm not careful, I can accidentally turn on the alarm. The power cord is a bit on the short side. I keep my clock on a chest of drawers, and it won't reach to the front. The Ugly: The snooze button is a touch sensitive spot on the top of the clock unlike the other physical buttons. This is a good feature; however, it is indicated by a large painted on button with a pointing finger. It is rather cartoon like. (You can see it in one of the pictures.) For a clock that is otherwise attractive this is a blemish. Despite its minor faults, I'm generally happy with the clock.
