Update: I purchased four of these and two of them started leaking out of the front while in use in various nozzle positions- like a seal was leaking. I removed the Philips head screw and then the adjustable nozzle portion. I saw nothing out of the ordinary. There is an 0-ring seal where the water flows and I wiped my finger across it in case something had gotten on that surface, but did not notice anything in particular. I reassembled the unit and the leaks are gone- hopefully forever. Note: There is a very small spring and pointed plunger acting with the detents that WILL fall out if the nozzle is not held upwards with the unit disassembled. It is easily lost and reassembled, if found... I am not removing a star at this point and will see what the distant future brings. Original: For years, we have been using all kinds of adjustable nozzles like this and invariably they start leaking after 1 year of use. This unit inspires confidence and I will update as time goes on per its longevity. This unit puts out more water at all setting than any other we have had. We have high hopes we finally found a quality nozzle of this type. ... show more

While the quality seems good enough, it'll take more than half a season to see if this thing lasts. I am pretty disappointed by the soaker setting. Imagine filling your mouth half way with water, and then opening your mouth. That's what you get. It just runs down all over your hand and arm. And yes, I have it completely "locked in" (click) to that setting. I wish there was a "full" setting like most garden hose nozzles have (to get a lot of water into a bucket fast). The lack of this setting has me still looking for a good nozzle. I use mostly "shower" (watering plants), "center" (filling things up and watering plants farther away), and "jet." The jet setting doesn't seem as strong as my last hose nozzle. [UPDATE] Well... it actually took a year and a half for it to break, so not bad, especially compared to other nozzles. But here is why I am UPGRADING my rating to four stars now. Even though the lever is plastic (metal would obviously be much more durable), Dramm has no problem (quickly!) sending a replacement when it breaks. I simply went to the website, uploaded a photo on the contact page, let them know that the handle was broken, and five minutes later I received a reply letting me know a brand new replacement was on the way to the address I provided. That is stellar, good old-fashioned, American customer service! Man, how I miss those days. So... I re-read my initial review, and while I am still a little disappointed with the "soaker" setting and wishing for a "full," I think the jet setting is fine. I definitely use "shower" most often, and I have started using "mist" quite a bit now that I have a two year old (he loves playing with the hose, and "mist" allows for fun in the water without worry about the eyes or wasting too much H20). I also failed to mention in my initial review that another nice feature is the large rubber portion around the main nozzle as well as the nice rubber grip (like a bicycle grip) on the handle. Very nice. This is a solid (metal except for the plastic lever and nozzle face) garden nozzle; combined with the stellar guarantee and customer service, this item simply can't be beat. For $12, it is still a better value than a $7 Big Lots cheapie once you've replaced the Dramm under warranty just once. I plan on buying more. ... show more
