The Dr. PEN drain tools are great for obstructions in the shallow part of your plumbing. This is a very inexpensive set which could save you hundreds of dollars if you have an obstruction in the shallow section of your plumbing. The set consist of 3 plastic tools which are 20” in length. These plastic strips have jagged hooks on them which will snag any obstruction and pull it out. They could be washed and reused but at such a low cost, I view them as disposable. There is one steel spring style tool with a grabber on the end. This tool is lightly longer at 33”. There is a mechanism that you can extend the grabber and hook on to any obstruction in the life. Again, this tool is relatively short and is not designed for any obstruction below the P-trap. Included with the pipe tools are a pair of rubber gloves. These are necessary to protect your hands because whatever you pull out of the sink drain is pretty gross. These are great for shallow obstructions. If the obstruction is further down the system, these are not very helpful.
