The wife jumped on this before I could even open the package to see what it was about. This is snake is made out of a plastic. So take your time when using this. It can break if a person gets heavy handed or trying to remove a solid blocakge and you will have a bigger problem trying to get the broken end out of your drain. It seems to work better if you have a hair blockage. Key point just take your time in removing blockage. Not a bad product at all. ... show more

I knew I was fishing for a hair ball in my shower drain. My old tool was worn out so I purchased these because of the length. They are not flat like the others. The are round. I pulled the drain cover and inserted the tool. It is difficult to get around the bend like other hair removal tools that are flat and ribbon shaped. When I went to pull the tool out of the drain, to my horror, the last few inches broke off. The drain was slow, but moving. So I optimistically hoped the broken end would somehow pass. After pulling some hair, with a second tool, the end did not come out with it. Instead, it hung up and began trapping everything going down the drain. A few uses later, the drain was completely blocked. Using a power auger, I was able to finish removing the clog. The broken piece was right in the center with those convenient little barbs holding on to everything. These are going right into the trash. A broken piece will turn your slow drain into a completed plugged drain very quickly. Just flexing the tip results in a break. ... show more

These are neat little items for when you have a clog, but don't want to call a plumber or use harsh and expensive chemicals. Just put them down the drain and pull them up after moving them around a bit. The only issue is the "ick" factor when you remove them. Often the things that come up don't look or smell pretty. Have tried a number of methods to clear my bathroom sink drains -- everything from baking soda/white vinegar to literally removing the pipes under the sink but they quickly started draining slowly again. Gave this a try and WOW -- pulled a bunch of gunk out and now they drain easily. This tool works well, though you do have to be careful when pulling it back out -- just go slowly. Got the 5-pack but the one I used cleaned easily and should last a long time. Great - and very useful - product. I would highly recommend this for anyone with slow draining sinks. ... show more

I got this product as I liked the idea of having a longer than average plastic snake to remove hair clogs in the drain. The product is very flimsy and not stiff enough to go through any of the bends in the pipe; the snake gets stuck at the start of any bend (I tried 3 different drains in the house to see if it was useful anywhere). Unfortunately I had to return the product. The orange plastic snake cleaners with spikes on the whole length of the snake are much stronger and can make it through the drains better. ... show more
