    • Fun, easy to use, and super affordable! Works incredibly well!!!
This is my first pinpointer, and I have to say that I am beyond impressed with it. It is built extremely well; it is super sturdy, it can be used in virtually any environment, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Before buying this pinpointer, I was really struggling to find the targets I was detecting. It would take me forever to find a single target, and I would sometimes have to give up and abandon some targets due to my inability to pin point (no pun intended) the exact location of the target. I hunt in both wet and dry environments, and occasionally underwater (in creeks), and this wonderful tool has made a huge difference!!! I'm able to find targets in seconds, thus I am able to spend more time detecting instead of trying to find a single target for minutes on end. I am quite pleased with how well it works! It auto ground-balances itself and it goes even beyond that as you can further ground balance it when you're in close proximity to your target for greater accuracy! I really love this feature. The only real downside to it, in my opinion, is that it does not have a sound indicator. I personally do not have a problem with the vibration-only technology, but If you are hunting in noisy environments or you suffer from neuropathy in your hands or have any condition that impairs your ability to feel the vibration, it may make things a little challenging. The pinpointer does, however, counteract the lack of sound with the colored light display that tells you how close you are to your target. Some folks complain that the actual range of detection is less than advertised, but I would argue that this is because they don't realize that if you are in an area where lots of interference is likely, the range of detection does decrease. BUT this is likely due to how good this thing is at ground balancing itself. With less interference, your range will be exactly as advertised. I promised. Worth every penny!!! ... show more

I'm very pleased with this pinpointer. I'm new to metal detecting and was finding it difficult to locate items without a lot of digging and fumbling through the muck. This pinpointer makes a huge difference and I've had great success now zeroing in on items. I was advised by others with more experience to buy a well-known, much more expensive pinpointer but took a chance on this one after reading other reviews and seeing a great October black Friday deal. Delivery was on time and packaging was decent, nothing fancy. The pinpointer came with a 9 volt battery, an instruction booklet, a protective cap for the tip, wrist strap, and a simple belt holster which is actually handy. The pinpointer has a single button and can be used with one hand. There's a small LED light to help light up the hole although I'm not sure it makes much difference in daylight. There is also an indicator light that changes color the closer the tip gets to the target. While it's a nice feature, I haven't had to look at the indicator very often as the pinpointer vibrates faster the closer it gets to target and I can feel when it's moving closer or farther away. The vibration makes an audible chattering sound too which is helpful so don't worry that this doesn't have a beeping feature that some others have. I can hear the chattering just fine and it works well. I've only had this for a few days so I can't attest to it's longevity but the plastic housing seems durable and I haven't had any trouble with it. It's rated as water resistant to 10 meters but I haven't tested that. As others and the instructions have noted you can reset the pinpointer by pressing the button once if it seems like it stops responding to a target but I haven't had to do that often. Now that I have used the pinpointer for a couple of days I can't imagine metal detecting without it. I've been digging relics in a wooded area and it's impossible to see rusty items embedded in the dirt. If not for the pinpointer I would have given up in more than a few places. So far it has led me to some square nails, a monkey wrench from the 1800's, an old hatchet head, and some other old things that I haven't identified yet. I'm having a lot of fun with this and so far it's proving to be the great value I'd hoped it would be. ... show more
