  • Great heater
I decided to put it on a little stand and not use the legs. Very easy to use. It worked and started to heat immediately. Very different heat. Very warm. Too warm. I usually try to heat my room to 70. I am older now and like it a little warmer. But cannot afford to turn on my entire house a/c heat strip. Electric bill was outrageous. I always used my propane fireplace. After the old one going bad and having carbon monoxide poisoning twice, i bought a new one . Well, $2000 later, the installer did something wrong and carbon monoxide poisoning again, the logs were buring. I had them take it out. But there was nothing like the heat of fire. The heat strip forced air just didnt warm up the house. It just blows air through the cold air. I never felt warm. I installed an electric fire place heater with a beautiful fake fireplace. It is great for spring and fall, but not for temps below 35. The house heater would turn on when the temperature in the house went below 65. Or else the house would never be able to warm up again . The fireplace could heat it right away, but not now. And i would keep the house on 59 at night. That is why i tried this little infrared hybred heater. It was wonderful last night. At 70, my living room/kitchen go too hot. I felt warm, not just the air around me. Set at 65 last night, I saw it go off and on. Test itself. Kept the room perfect. I sleep in the living room . In the morning, it was not freezing cold, the room temperature shows 68, the machine 65. Objects feel warmer, like my house phone. It is very plesant. The area i am heating is about 400 sq ft. Very comfortable. If i need to take a shower and go to the bedroom, I'll turn on the house heat, but thats only for a little while. I will try to turn this machine up and see how far this heat will travel through my little 1000 sq ft house . But for now, im just testing where i mainly stay and closing off the 3 rooms i don't use . It is quiet, there was never an original burn off odor, directions are easy to follow. I used ECO mode. The stand i used was so it was a little higher off the floor and i believe to make it more steady. Lets see how it does throughout the winter here in the mountains of NC. So far, i like it and not a bad price . ... show more

  • Nice heater!
Repeat buyer here! This is our third one! These work great. We gave our first one to our son when he needed for heating. So we bought a replacement to use it in our camper instead of the noisy furnace. When using in our camper, we have to use on low if we have 2 heaters going at the same time to prevent the breaker from tripping. We use one at each end and they keep us comfortable when the weather is 25-30* Would buy again! ... show more

  • The size and options are much better than the tower heaters we were using.
We use this great compact heater in the barn for five cats. It outperforms the tower heaters and saves energy with temperature degrees and time settings. Much better all the way around than towers. Not making daily manual adjustments is a great heater. I highly recommend this superior product for home, garage, barn or any applications where a compact great unit is needed. ... show more

  • cute
it is cute compared to the normal wood dr, heater’s. i like its smaller size and that it matches better with things in my room (was on a higher black round table but, the heat was going too high up to feel it so it is on a temporary wooden step stool for now).. Just like the normal wood ones, this one has a bright display lights that still does not offer the option to turn them all off to night mode. Now i do not think this thing would be as adequate as the larger dr. heaters at all for main areas like living room or large rooms. right now i have it near my bed somewhat where i get up at in mornings, so its size and heat distribution is good enough to warm me up in AM’s when it is cold but, i cannot actually feel the heat when i am sitting on my bed, just when i sit on at end/side of it. when i used the regular wood version, i could indeed feel the heat when on my bed, we can actually feel the heat blowing out of those versions across our living room till about 12ft.. bottom line this is a cute heater for a small-medium room and definitely great for direct heat but, it is not going to heat up your house like the wood ones do. we have 4 of those, one is in our living room near stairs & door facing into the room, another is in our kitchen/dinning area near back door facing into rooms and towards living room. we set them on 66 at night and 70 during day and these two keep our whole downstairs warm all winter (as long as we start them up before temps get below 55 inside). we haven’t even turn on our furnace in 4 yrs with those and there is no way this would be the case if we replace them with two of these newer smaller black versions!! As much as i like its look, am thinking of returning it cause well for how it performs overall, you can probably get another brand for probably a cheaper price with a wider heat output other than the only upward one this heater is putting out.. plus and i am not sure if this is normal with just unit we receive but, when it comes on to check air temp it makes a loud click-on noise and also does when it decides afterwards room needs heated...its enough to wake one back up when almost asleep!! no rattling fan noise like the 5yr old wood unit version i am replacing though so that is a plus! i don’t know, i do like this one but, don’t like it at same time, if it wasn’t so cute and stylish looking, it would be much easier to simply send it back and rebuy the original wood version instead.. recommend for direct heat like next to your work area, bathroom and small kids rooms but, not for warming up a whole room/s. buy the original wood dr.heaters or iliving for that (the iliving brand are dr. heaters too and some come in a nicer darker reddish wood color instead of the orangy color). ... show more

  • Very Nice Little Heater.
Very nice heater, works well.

  • Puts out a lot of heat for such a small heater
I use this heater in a 300-400 sq. ft. area which includes the living room, dining room and kitchen (open layout). I have a built-in forced air heater but it can't bring the temperature up beyond 59/60 degrees in colder weather (40s and below). Then I got this heater which swiftly brings the temperature up to 65 degrees (it could maybe go higher but I set the temperature to 65). We had a winter storm where it dipped to 0 degrees with wind chill factor (violent wind for a week, snow, sleet, ice) and this little heater was a champ! There is something about the infrared heat that I really like - it feels like heat from a fire. After running for a few hours, I touched the top, sides (left/right) and bottom of the heater and none were hot which is a big plus. ... show more
