Description

Douglas chair new replacement swivel tilt mechanism. The seat mounting bolt pattern measures 5 1/4" x 5 1/4". This swivel tilt mechanism is made for dining chairs, not office chairs. This part will not allow you to adjust the chair height like an office chair. This swivel part may work with dinette chairs manufactured by Chromcraft, Stoneville, Keller, Tempo, Blacksmith, Callee and more. Please check and measure your current bolt pattern to make sure it matches up with ours before purchasing. We highly recommend lubricating the part with white lithium grease prior to installation. Also, it's not uncommon for the swivel to be tight at first when it's new. However, the swivel will loosen up with usage.

  • Works great!
I have roller kitchen chairs and everyone would lean back in them like they were recliners. I purchased one of these to see if it would really work, it was very good quality and very easy to put on. I then purchased three more for my other chairs. Cost me much less than replacing my chairs. They are like brand new now!! Perfect!!! ... show more

  • Perfect fit.
These worked really great on my swivel kitchen chairs. An exact replacement of what was on there that had broken after many years.

  • Great alternate
I've ordered several of these to repair chairs in our clubhouse at our condo community. They are much less expensive than others appear to be exactly the same. Two were installed early last year and are functioning with no problems.

Purchasing these have saved us hundreds of dollars. A new chair cost $500. They work like new after we installed the new swivels.

  • Drop in replacement, use two expanding clamps to get old one out of the base
These were a perfect fit for my Douglas chairs. I did not replace the plastic spool the shaft fits into, it seems to work fine. Initially, I was not able to get the old mechanism removed from the leg base, I tried manually pulling hard and a rubber mallet. I eventually used a pair of reversable trigger clamps (https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DWHT83194-Large-Trigger-Clamp/dp/B00OJSM3CW) set to spreading mode. I put two clamps on opposite sides of the center shaft, pressing on the metal tilt plate about where the screw holes were, and the other clamp end pressing on the top of the leg close to the center. A couple of squeezes on the clamp handles and out it popped. These clamps can reverse the head so can clamp together or spread apart. ... show more
