The instruction booklet it one page folded in half, and when I saw that I instantly felt like this was going to be harder than I thought. Well, I was wrong. After removing radio surround, you have to use a 1/4" drill bit to drill out the plastic welds to remove the factory radio facia. The instructions say to then use a 3/8" drill bit to widen the holes left from drilling out the plastic welds... I did not do this. Instead I ran the 1/4" bit in and out a few times to make sure the holes were smooth, and that side hole fit perfect with this new facia. Again, I did not use the 3/8" bit. The only hard part was the self-threading nuts that attach the new facia to the surround. I ended up using my impact wrench and some force (but not too much because I didn't want to risk breaking anything) and they all went on pretty easy after that. Definitely could not get them on with a normal ratchet. Great product, looks great in my '04 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4x4. I would recommend this to anyone looking to install a double DIN radio. This also came with the wiring harness adapter vehicle specific, and antenna adapter. Both fit perfectly. One thing to note, not all wires from the factory harness may be used on all aftermarket radios. I did not use the "Phone Mute" brown wire. My new radio had no corresponding connection. I simply bent over the end and heat shrinked it to prevent any shorts. And a note: Anyone installing a double DIN radio in the '04 Ram and surrounding years covered by this cover, you WILL have to cut out some of the plastic behind the cover. There is a shelf below where the old radio was that supported it, as well as a top cover area above. I did not need to cut the plastic above (some people do) but I did have to cut out the shelf underneath. I used a small hand hack saw and it went pretty smooth. It is a bit nerve racking when doing it, but if done right, it is so great to see the finished project!

Bit tougher of an install than originally thought. It looks really good and I actually prefer the smooth black finish over the factory rough one. It fit well, but the plastic brackets to mount the radio don’t quite fit so I had to cut some off of the back corners to make it work and it was still a difficult install there afterword. Overall I’d give it 4 out of 5 good quality just hard install. I used the Atoto A6PF head unit with this.

This item showed up in an Amazon box with all the included parts, so there were no broken tabs or scratches like others had mentioned in their reviews. It was easy to install and had a very nice fit. I started the self tapping nuts with a small impact driver and then finished tightening them with a wrench. I did this to keep them from stripping on the plastic because of the torque of the impact driver. I used this dash kit with a Boss BV9695B double DIN in a 2003 Ram 3500 and the fit was perfect. The only modification I had to do to this kit was to trim the top of "L" brackets that mount to the side of the stereo about 1/4 inch to keep them from hitting the plastic in the dash above the stereo, but it was really no big deal. I would definitely recommend this item and would order it again if I were to do another install.

I put a new double din head unit into a 2014 Dodge Ram and it wasn't too much trouble. but I'd say a couple things... this is a flat matte finish on the outside, which is different from what my truck had. My truck's faceplate like this had slight bumps in it, and this does not. So not a perfect match from a finish standpoint. But the black smooth finish looks just fine. Also, I couldn't figure out the nuts that you slide over the plastic things that stick out to secure this plate to the other dash pate, but I used a screw gun and got them started by pushing hard and then I had to snip off some of the plastic sticking out of the middle of the nut because my socket wasn't deep enough. Again, not a big deal, but the directions didn't help with that at all and it took some trial and error. But got it to work and it looks good. Also, the wiring harness does NOT come with connectors, so you will have to go to the store to get crimps unless you have them lying around. You need about 15 of them. Overall a good product.

Fits like Factory! I replaced a single Din stereo with a double din Android unit. Hardest part was removing the old piece, I had to drill out the holes to remove it. This unit fit perfectly, and the only slight problem I had was with tightening the screw nuts as they were difficult to thread. I finally grabbed a socket wrench and they went on easily. I couldn't figure out how head unit mounted to Dash kit directly with their brackets, but unit fit perfectly into the old radio mount holes after cutting out some of the dash like YouTube suggested. Very Easy to Install! Looks like Factory OEM

Installed today in my 04 Ram 1500. If your putting this in your 04 ram you do need to cut the plastic base that in under the radio out, then no problem fits perfect and doesn't wiggle. Self threading nuts used to mount the new faceplate to the oem panel confused me at first then I understood, used a 7/16 deep socket and threaded them on snug/hand tight till there was no play. 1/4 inch drill bit to drill out the plastic welds holding the oem faceplate to the oem panel (11 total). No need to enlarge the hole with 3/8 bit just ream it out a bit with the 1/4 and use a razor to debut the front edges of the holes so the new faceplate sits flush.

It does fit in a 2002 dodge ram 1500 but you cannot screw it in so I am using two-sided tape to keep it in. There is rivets on the old one you need to cut out to get this one in but can’t screw it. Also, it doesn’t really fit his 7 inch. Stereo it’s a little bit smaller so I’m going to shave it down so the stereo fits. the brackets. That come with it do not fit either.
