This clock is substantial…it’s large, very heavy, and the gears really move! I had purchased a similar clock that was significantly lighter in weight (yet cost about the same) and returned that one because they sent the wrong color. I bought this one on a whim. I was so surprised and impressed! This clock has a glass face, and the thickness is almost 4”. I think the glass contributes to the weight. It definitely took two people to hang it. It has a metal hanger with a round hole on the back. It should not fall off a properly secured nail. The clock is quiet. The gears run smoothly. No noise from the gears running. It takes three AA batteries. The battery change is the only challenge I can foresee. I think I will be able to slide the clock on the nail and lift the clock enough to change the batteries. Overall, I highly recommend this clock. You are sure to get compliments!

Original (2*): Gears work, hands don’t. Unfortunately this was a present and sat for a bit, so I can’t return :/ The clock is gorgeous otherwise, just wish it worked. EDIT: the seller reached out within a couple days of my initial review. They offered to send a new part to get the clock working AND a full refund (which is above and beyond). This shows they really care about their customers. After my review, I used the sheet they sent with the clock (explains how to remove the mechanism for replacement) and watched some YouTube tutorials on battery operated clocks. I figured out the battery housing wasn't conducting and got it fixed. No need for a new part or a refund. I'm still keeping my review at 4* because I had to do repairs, but the mechanism could've jostled loose in shipping so it may have been out of the seller's hands . This company has excellent customer service, they'll get my business again if/when I seek another awesome clock. Additional comments: the clock really is gorgeous. I bought it as a gift for my girlfriend who loves clocks (but is also picky). The gears move at perfect speed, they're not obtrusive in our living room but still eye catching when you look at the clock. The face is real glass, not cheap plastic or anything that will shatter by looking at it. The wood is great quality (make sure to hit a stud when hanging, it's a heavy/sturdy clock!). The wood to metal ratio is perfect as well, it fits very well in our space.

Don’t buy this I’ve had the clock for 7 months When it started to be slow i replaced the batteries. It still was slow Not able to use it at all. Ive tried to contact the company but nothing goes through. I think because they are a bad company..:they don’t care. But either does Amazon. They don’t respond either.

This is a great size, statement piece for over my fireplace. I have the black with bronze numbers/gears. The one thing that’s difficult to see is the hands. They’re black, and even though the numbers are bronze, they seem to blend in quite a bit. Also, after just a few weeks, the gears that are supposed to continually move, have stopped. We purchased the heavy duty batteries for this clock that Amazon said we needed. Really? I still find it super attractive, it keeps time perfectly. It is a heavy piece, so make sure to have the proper location for it!
