i needed to be able to put screws into a brick chimney. The hammer function worked. Unfortunately the screws didn't hold, but that is not the fault of the drill. I had bought my own drill bits which were longer than the ones that come with the drill, which turned out to be the right decision. Its is a very good value ... show more

I have to be honest, I was a bit nervous ordering an unknown brand when purchasing my new cordless drill. I’m not a contractor, a handyman, or even a dedicated do-it-yourself(er). I build furniture from boxes, hang pictures, and (occasionally) take things apart in an attempt to fix them before chucking the whole mess and buying new. I’ve been using the same cordless drill my father bought me 30 years ago. The DongCheng cordless drill exceeds all of my expectations. First and foremost, this is a drill kit. We’ve got accessories to spare! The kit comes with a carry bag for all of your drill accessories. It is about the size of the carry-all cases that doctors use in old movies when they make house calls (like that would ever happen today). The bag holds everything that comes with the kit with room to spare for some other gear you may want to stow in there. There’s even a detachable shoulder strap if you prefer to have your hands free. Additionally, the kit comes with two rechargeable batteries and a charger, standard-sized drill bits (though small bits are not included), 8 screwdriver bits, and a flexible adaptor that allows you to remove screws from hard-to-reach places (think small engine repair). The drill has great tork; allowing you to remove screws that have been machine tightened like magic. Just make sure you hold on tight and keep the drill firmly set in the screw head or you may have unintended results. Truly, use a light touch on the trigger until you get used to this tool. You have the options of forward, reverse, or trigger lock settings as well as the ability to choose whether you want to screw, drill, or use the hammer features. These options are accompanied by an automatic LED light below the dill head that illuminates the area you are working on. In practice, the light is nice, but I found that the shadow cast by the drill head and my hands sometimes negates the usefulness of the light. Some drills have the LED light built right into the chuck, which allows for shadow-free work. I’ve not done enough work with this drill to attest to battery life yet, but I am extremely satisfied with it so far. ... show more

This Power Drill arrived in a well packaged box. The contents included a bag to carry it with a characteristic color on the outside – making it very easy to locate it in the midst of other anonymous or similar looking tool bags. The drill comes with TWO battery packs which make it very convenient when using on long duration jobs with no danger of running out of power in the middle of a project. Included in the package is an extender which is just right in length. Some drill bits (with their diameters embossed on their stems) are also provided inside a hard, semi-transparent plastic box making it very convenient to use. I used one of the drill bits for starter holes after which I used the drill to insert and tighten screws. The weight of the drill increased the stability. The drill packed a lot of power and the stability of the drill had the screws going into the wall perpendicular and not askew. The LED lamp illuminated the targeted spot providing for increased accuracy. Finally, the bag to store it is capacious enough to accommodate the drill without having to remove the power pack. All in all a very powerful Drill with many uses when combined with other standard drill bits and well worth the price. ... show more
