I purchased this on April 10 for my turtle’s 55 gal tank. She needs the temperature to be at 75-85 degrees. For the first couple of weeks, it worked fine. One day, I noticed the temperature was under 65 degrees even though the temperature gage was above 75. I had to keep turning up the gage to try to fix the issue (even turning it past 90) with no luck. It wouldn’t go past 70 which is too cold for my turtle. By the time this happened, it was past the return date. A couple of days later, I found the heater shattered. Luckily, my turtle wasn’t in the her tank when this happened. I’m very disappointed since I had read some great reviews before purchasing and was looking forward to this product. This all happened less than 2 months from purchase date. I wouldn’t recommend due to the temperature inaccuracy and the shattered glass. ... show more

I ordered this twice and both of them were severely cracked at the bottom under the black cap. Please check for this before putting it in your tank! One was also missing the thermometer.
