    • Easy Install, great upgrade!
Love the Dometic 310. It was very easy to replace our dometic 300 with the 310. Only took me about 20 minutes to remove the old and replace with the new. Removal and install only required a few common household tools. The install instructions and diagrams are well written and easy to follow. Why a 310? It has a nice porcelain 1 piece bowl that is much easier to keep clean than the plastic of the 300. The leaner stool profile at the base also allows better access for cleaning outside and behind the toilet in small bathrooms. Be sure to measure your wall clearance if planning to swap from the 300 to the 310. I knew our clearance was going to be a tight fit because our 21ft TT has a very tiny bath. The top back of the 310 stool is slightly deeper than the 300, so in our TT the 310 just barely fit, leaving a clearance of less than 1/2 inch. Fortunately the smaller clearance does not affect operation or use of the toilet or the cabinet behind it. The quiet close lid and seat truely are silent and sturdy, unlike the plastic seat on the 300. It is solid enough to sit on while drying off after a shower without having to fear cracking the lid. I recently installed the Dometic 310 Standard Toilet in my RV and it has completely transformed my camping experience. The toilet is incredibly easy to use and maintain, and it has all of the features that I need to feel comfortable on the road. One of the best features of this toilet is its powerful flush. The flush is strong enough to completely clear the bowl, which means that I don't have to worry about clogs or odors. Additionally, the bowl is made of ceramic, which is easy to clean and doesn't scratch or stain easily. Another great feature of this toilet is its small footprint. It doesn't take up a lot of space in my RV bathroom, which is important when you're trying to conserve space. Despite its small size, the toilet is very comfortable to use and doesn't feel cramped. Finally, the Dometic 310 Standard Toilet is very easy to install. It comes with everything that you need to install it in your RV, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. I was able to install the toilet myself without any issues. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the Dometic 310 Standard Toilet. We purchased the low profile with sprayer model for our 2004 Fleetwood Southwind 36E, to replace an old SeaLand/Dometic ceramic low profile with sprayer model that had a few parts starting to go bad. It's a good improvement and we're really happy with it so far, once we get used to the foot pump being on a different side. The overall footprint is smaller but the lid doesn't sit fully back due to our angled floorplan, and it's also slightly higher, by about 1/2 inch on our previous toilet because of the wood vs. plastic seat (which is fine for my 6'1" husband but not so great for 5'1" me). Install took us longer than expected, with 4 runs to the hardware store thanks to issues with not being able to reuse a few of the old parts. Fun. Be wary of purchasing the floor mount "also purchased by other Amazon customers" which was the wrong type for us (the rubber seal we got was a step up from what's included with this model). Operation is smooth, efficient, and easy compared to our old toilet and it's going to be easier to clean without the rim "lip". The slow-close lid and sturdy wooden seat are a nice upgrade feature for us. We were relieved the unit survived delivery and arrived intact, unlike other customers. There seemed to be sufficient cardboard packaging, with rubber bands holding the lid in place, which may be a manufacturer response to that reported problem.
