Description

The Doggie Dooley Model 3800X is an in-ground dog waste disposal system designed to help manage pet waste conveniently in residential yards. Installed below the surface, this septic-style unit helps break down dog waste naturally in the soil, offering a dedicated outdoor disposal solution that keeps cleanup centralized and out of household trash. The system measures approximately 16 x 16 x 8.5 inches and features a large capacity tank designed for multi-dog households. Built with durable materials for outdoor installation, the unit includes a foot-operated lid that allows hands-free access for easy daily use. Installation is simple: dig a hole in the yard using a post hole digger or garden shovel, approximately 48 inches (120 cm) deep and about 14 inches (35.5 cm) in diameter, place the Doggie Dooley tank into the ground, and position it so the lid sits at ground level. Once installed, add water and dog waste as needed. For initial setup, add approximately 5 gallons (19 liters) of water to the tank to start the breakdown process. Add approximately 1 gallon (4 liters) of water each time waste is added to help support proper flow and breakdown inside the unit. For maintenance, add water regularly and use Doggie Dooley Waste Terminator tablets weekly to help support the natural breakdown process inside the unit. As the waste decomposes, liquid by-products disperse safely into the surrounding soil. The system works with natural soil bacteria to continuously process pet waste below ground. The Model 3800X is suitable for households with up to two large dogs or four small dogs, depending on use and soil conditions. For best performance, the system should be installed in well- drained soil and climates where ground temperatures remain above 40°F. Doggie Dooley provides a practical backyard solution for pet owners who want a dedicated underground disposal system that helps keep lawns cleaner and reduces reliance on trash bags for pet waste.

  • No more garbage poo!!
This is one of the most exciting products I've heard about. I have been wanting to get rid of my garbage service for a while now, compost most everything and have very little waste. Well, dog poo was a large portion of our garbage, as we have two labs. Throwing it at the back of the yard to decompose naturally was not an option. My wife told me about a septic system specifically made for dog poo that she had heard about. I was like "Seriously?! Awesome!!" So, a quick search on Amazon brought me to this item. I had no hesitation in ordering this item based on reviews and the whole concept. I'ts been up and running for about two weeks. I use two tablets per week and seems to be working just fine. Not sure if the powder is any better. At this point I would say buy it! Notes: They say to dig a four foot hole, and that's it. They don't say to fill it with anything. I can't imagine the plastic cover being able to support over forty pounds. I decided to fill the hole with drain rock until this item sits on top of the rock and is flush with the ground. How it works: You buy it, bury it, fill it with water, throw a couple tablets in to get the bacteria started. Then throw a day or two worth of poo in, but no more, you don't want to overload the system. Each day you pour a gallon of WARM water in to "flush" the system. This stirs everything up, raises the water level, and empties waste into the four foot hole you dug. Then scoop daily poo into this unit. Is this smelly? Yes and no. When it's closed for the day you don't smell it, but when you open it to make a deposit, yes it's very smelly! Overall this won't stink up the whole neighborhood. Might not be best put in a place of direct sunlight for most the day as the sun will break down the plastic very fast. I believe the fact that the bacteria doesn't work well below 40 degrees, I don't work well under 40!! Highly recommended!! ... show more

  • Gets the job done!
Color: Black with Green Lid
I installed this myself which is saying something considering I’m a 50 year old woman. The digging was made much easier after I used a 36” auger drill attachment to loosen the soil. I dug the hole with a post hole digger, put some drainage rocks in the bottom of the hole and set the dooly flush with the ground. Only problem I had was due to the soil where I live, it’s mostly sand and the hole kept caving in so I sunk a 8 inch drain pipe with holes drilled through sides down into the hole to shore up the walls. Next I added the water and the tablets that came with the product and it’s been working ever since! I haven’t had any problems with odor and each time I add a fresh pile of dog poop the previous one isn’t there. The product seems sturdy enough to do its job. I’m debating on moving it to a new location closer to my garden hose because it needs water to work properly and I believe it will hold up well if I do move it Pretty cool product. I keep my garbage can in my garage and it doesn’t smell like dog crap since I started using this. I have one large golden retriever but she has friends over often who like to poop here so I use the product a lot. Hope this helps anyone who is on the fence deciding if they want to buy this, I’m glad I did! ... show more

  • Not For Clay Soil
I wanted one of these, but decided to use an old garbage can instead. I dug a deep hole, cut the bottom off the can, only to discover that I did not have a lid for the can. I REALLY like the lid on this product, it looks durable and easy to use. I did not relish the though of lifting the lid every time I scooped. So I bought one of these to use in my hole about a month ago. Well, it turns out this is a mini septic tank. The bottom can is sealed on the bottom and has an overflow tube. It uses the type of composting that is in water. You add enzymes to break down the waste, and then what's left flows over the top of the overflow tube and into the ground. I also discovered, after reading the instructions, that this will not work in clay soil. My soil is so clay, I added a little water to make it easier to dig, and the water stayed for days! Seeing that this type of composting would not work for me, I modified mine. I cut the bottom off, used the can as a lid, (I know an expensive lid!), and used it that way. My hole, big enough for a garbage can was too big, so I cut pieces of my garbage can (plastic) and put it around the Dooley and filled in my hole around it. It works great so far. The top flange and the lid itself are plastic, so I worry about sun damage and cracking, but so far so good. Since my soil is clay, water drains very slowly out of my hole. I dropped some of the enzyme pellets in anyway to see what happens. There is still a lot of water in my hole, but so far no smell. It has been cold, so it might be worse in the summer. LOTS OF FLYS!!!! But I figure better inside the Dooley, than outside in the yard. At least the spiders will be able to feed of the Dooley that having to build webs all over the yard like they do now. So check your soil to make sure it can absorb the water from this mini septic tank before buying. ... show more
