I brought this cat litter on Amazon's Subscribe & Save site so I could get additional savings. I am a bargain hunter on a budget. I previously used the 40 lb. pail because I felt it worked well for clumping and the scent was bearable. I also liked that I could reuse the pail for so many different purposes. Also, the price was right and my cat was fine with this litter. The only problem for me was many times it was delivered to my front door instead of where I told them to leave it. I had to lift and drag it all the way from the front of the house to the back door basement. That's when I thought, Enough is enough. So, I decided to order these 3 bags so it would be easier to move, lift and carry. I agree with other reviews that say the box it comes in is too heavy and needs a handle to make it more doable. Other than that, I am happy with this order and continue to reorder. It does have some dust but no litter I have ever tried was perfectly dust free. Overall, my cat hasn't rejected this litter and oddly enough I have many allergies and the scent or dust cloud doesn't bother me. Some love this cat litter and some dislike it. You have to be the judge of it. Hopefully, my review and others will lead you to making the right choice for you! ... show more

If I go to the store, I end up with a big bucket or something similar. The nicest feature is that they split it up into 3 separate 13 pound bags, which is much easier to lift and carry than the full sized containers. As for the contents, this is our go-to kitty litter. We've had multiple cats for a long time, and this stuff does the trick. It clumps properly, isn't horribly dusty (the so-called lightweight stuff is terrible), and we don't generally notice any smell. It's a good idea to scoop every day. Cats don't like dirty litter boxes so much either. I also recommend multiple litter boxes in different areas of the house, and larger ones are better than smaller ones. We don't use any weird covers or auto-scooping mechanisms. Just a regular pan, put in a bathroom or laundry room. A small dustpan is also helpful, since cats tend to kick the litter when they're done. ... show more

I've got a pair of big twin cats, about 15 pounds, 17 years old. They are good litter box users and I can't remember the last time one had an accident outside the box. I've tried litters -- even recently -- that were touted as "no tracking" or "no smell" or "all natural" or "lightweight." Nothing works like Tidy Cat tradition clumping litter. It covers odors better, it lasts longer between scoopings, there is less litter tracked out of the litter box. I've only tried the other when Amazon forces customers to use non-Amazon delivery on Tidy Cat -- not often, but it happens. The other delivery companies like Sam's or Costco struggle with deliveries to my condo in the middle of Austin. So I'll try other litters and all of them fail in comparison to Tidy Cat. The three smaller bags also work great: they open easily, they pour easily, and the lighter weight makes them SO much easier to handle. ... show more

Clumping it is excellent, odor control okay. I scoop everyday, sometimes twice because of having 2 cats. I can smell litterbox in the room somewhat whereas with another brands I never had an issue. Maybe a single cat home would be okay but multiple cat I don't recommend it.

Every time I try to order 2 of these, Amazon never delivers one of them. Then we have to go through refund/replacement....every....single....time. Ive also noticed....the quality is just not the same as whats in the plastic pails. It says three 13 lb bags....but they feel like 10 lb bags. They dont last as long, wont clump as well, etc. Its supposed to be just packaging (I WANT ECOFRIENDLY) but its just not the same (Disclaimer: 27 years of cat ownership, 24 in fostering and 8 as a licensed vet tech working in 3 municipal shelters) ... show more
