This litter mat does exactly what I hoped it would do. It catches a surprising amount of litter before it gets tracked throughout the house. The double-layer design works well, allowing loose litter to fall through the top layer and collect underneath instead of ending up all over the floor. Although, I wish I would not have ordered the smallest size. One size up would have been even better. But, that doesn't take away from the function of mat. The mat is soft enough for cats to walk on comfortably, and my cats had no problem using it right away. I also like that it's waterproof, which provides some extra protection for the floor around the litter box area. Cleaning is simple. When the mat fills with litter, I just lift it, empty the trapped litter, and put it back in place. It has definitely reduced the amount of sweeping and vacuuming I need to do around the litter box. The gray color blends in nicely, and the material feels durable enough for everyday use. These mats really work. I bought 2, one for inside litter pan area and one for outside the area. 4 cats, 3 litter pans. I use Arm and Hammer Cloud Free, it a very fine litter and the mat collects any litter that remains on cats paws. Very easy to clean, just open end and shake out.

Sure it trapped the litter, but pouring the litter out never went very well. First of all, it arrived folded, and despite using it for 4 months, it never flattened out. Then pouring it out you had to fold it in half and pray for the best. Litter would go everywhere. Plus the litter stunk.

We have several of these in various sizes, and we just ordered more to replace the remaining mats of other types (4 cats, 5 litter boxes). We love these - they're much more effective than any other litter mats we've ever tried. They do an excellent job of getting the litter off the paws and collecting it, and they're deep enough that you don't have to immediately clear them - they work for weeks. When you do feel the need, it's easy to vacuum them (I use a small shop vac), or you can just pick them up and hold them vertically, letting all the litter slide out through the one open end. They're also soft and squishy, so they're comfortable to step on, for either us or the cats. (And tbh, I sometimes step on one to get stray litter bits off my socks.) They seem to be quite durable, as well - we've been using a couple of them for 4 years and they show no signs of wear, unlike some flat mesh-topped ones that cracked and split after a while. The material is sufficiently non-skid that we can tuck one end under the litter box, and that keeps it firmly in place. (Otherwise it does tend to skate away.) Note that they arrive folded once or twice (at least for the larger sizes), but that flattens right out after a day or two, so don't be alarmed. ... show more

Although my fur baby was wary from the changed mat, she was brave and tried it anyway. It appeared to seem strange to her to walk on the honeycomb shapes which catch most of the litter caught in her paws. It has significantly cut down on litter left in the path from the box out to the door of the bathroom! It is really simple to empty too!! ... show more

My cat keeps throwing out some little but besides that the product is great quality it doesn’t have an odor and I love how I can choose to dump the litter back into the litter box or throw it out if I want.
